From June 26th to 28th, the final of the 7th Sichuan Provincial University Young Teacher Teaching Competition was held at China West Normal University. Peng Chuang, member of the party group and vice chairman of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, and Yang Jianguo, second-level inspector of the Provincial Department of Education, attended the summary meeting. The competition was sponsored by the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the Provincial Education Working Committee and the Provincial Department of Education, and undertaken by the Provincial Education, Science, Culture and Health Trade Union, the Provincial Department of Education, the Teachers' Office, the Higher Education Department, the Vocational Education Department and China West Normal University. Since the competition was launched in February this year, the organization of the work has been carried out in an orderly manner, attracting nearly 10,000 young teachers from 129 colleges and universities in the province to participate, after the school-level selection competition, the provincial competition preliminaries all the way through, 140 young teachers from 67 colleges and universities in the province entered the finals for a "strong showdown". The competition has seven categories: liberal arts, science, engineering, medicine, ideological and political courses, higher vocational liberal arts and higher vocational science and engineering. Among them, the comprehensive liberal arts of higher vocational science and engineering are the new groups of this competition, realizing the full coverage of colleges and universities. At the competition site, the contestants competed in three projects: teaching design, classroom teaching and teaching reflection around the competition concept of "taking a good course", showing their respective teaching concepts, methods, and characteristics. Experts and scholars in various disciplines and professional fields inside and outside the province will conduct comprehensive evaluation and scoring on the spot.
After fierce competition, in the end, Chen Xi of Southwest Jiaotong University, Liu Ligang of China West Normal University, Jin Siding of Chengdu University of Technology, Li Dou of Sichuan University, Song Jinglin of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Zhang Min of Sichuan Water Conservancy Vocational and Technical College, and Li Qinyuan of Yibin Vocational and Technical College won the first place in the comprehensive group of liberal arts, science, engineering, medicine, ideological and political courses, comprehensive liberal arts and higher vocational science and engineering. Through the competition, the contestants who represented Sichuan to participate in the National Young Teacher Teaching Competition were also selected. In his speech, Peng Chuang pointed out that he hoped that the majority of young teachers would always establish morality and cultivate people, have the courage to pursue their dreams, strive to be the guides of students' growth, vigorously carry forward the spirit of educators, keep in mind the original mission of educating people for the party and the country, and establish the ambition and ambition of "cultivating the teaching altar and strengthening the country". It is hoped that trade unions at all levels will always be close to the grassroots, take responsibility, and effectively act as the "mother's family" of employees. It is hoped that the majority of universities, units and all walks of life will always care about and support the Youth Education Competition, and jointly build a good platform for leading innovation and stimulating exploration. Give full play to the role of the long-term mechanism of the Youth Education Competition, promote the continuous optimization of the competition work mechanism, organizational form and incentive measures, and continue to enhance the attractiveness and vitality of the competition brand. It is understood that the Sichuan University Young Teachers Teaching Competition has been held every two years since 2012, and it is the largest, highest level and most participating teachers in the province. It aims to give full play to the exemplary and leading role of teaching competition in improving the comprehensive quality, professional level and innovation ability of young teachers, and provide talent guarantee and intellectual support for the construction of a strong province in higher education.
