Zhong Min, formerly known as Zhong Desheng, is a native of Ruijin, Jiangxi, and was born in a poor family. In 1930, he joined the Red Army in Ruijin and joined the Communist Party of China the following year. After participating in the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth struggles against "encirclement and suppression" in the Central Revolutionary Base Area, Zhong Min stayed in the Ruijin area and persisted in guerrilla warfare for three years.

Zhong Min (1911 — 1954)

After the establishment of the New Fourth Army, Zhong Min joined the 2nd Detachment and served as the commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Regiment, the director of the Political Department of the 3rd Regiment, and the director of the Political Department of the 2nd Column. During the Southern Anhui Incident, he was fortunate to successfully break through. After the rebuilding of the military headquarters, he was the deputy political commissar of the 3rd Brigade of the 1st Division and the political commissar of the 2nd Army Division of the Soviet-Chinese Military Region.
