Reminder of Mainland Travel Permits

Today, on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the Exit and Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China issued an announcement to further facilitate personnel exchanges between the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and to support Hong Kong and Macao to better integrate into the overall development of the country, issuing Mainland Travel Permits for non-Chinese nationals among Hong Kong and Macao permanent residents from July 10, 2024.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Exit and Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China, non-Chinese nationals among Hong Kong and Macao permanent residents can voluntarily apply for a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese nationality), and apply for the Exit and Entry Administration for the first time by submitting an application to the Hong Kong China Travel Service Group or China Travel Service Macau entrusted by the Exit and Entry Administration of the People's Republic of China; In the event of expiration, damage or loss of a document during their stay in the Mainland, they may apply to the exit-entry administration of the public security organ at or above the level of the city divided into districts in the Mainland for renewal or reissuance, or they can apply for renewal or reissuance of the exit permit to China Travel Service Group Hong Kong or China Travel Service Macau after leaving the country.

The holder can travel to and from the mainland several times within the five-year validity period of the permit, and each stay shall not exceed 90 days. According to the relevant provisions of the 2017 announcement of the Ministry of Public Security on the retention of fingerprints and other biometric information for foreigners entering the country, the holder of the permit can clear customs through the fast channel after completing the formalities such as fingerprint collection at the port.

If it is really necessary to carry out the above activities, the holder shall apply for a visa or stay or residence permit to the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong and Macao or the exit-entry administration of the public security organ in the Mainland in accordance with laws and regulations.

Reminder for female soldiers to apply for recruitment in the second half of the year

In the second half of the year, female soldiers are eligible for recruitment: fresh graduates of ordinary high schools, full-time graduates and students of ordinary colleges and scientific research institutions, aged 18 to 22 (born between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2006), and full-time graduate graduates and students are relaxed to 26 years old.

Compensation and substitution policy: The central government shall implement corresponding tuition compensation and state student loan reimbursement for ordinary college graduates, graduating students, and current students who should be conscripted into the army. High school graduates who have been admitted to colleges and universities in the current year retain their enrollment qualifications after enlisting in the army, and enjoy the national tuition waiver policy after retiring from military service.

The registration period for the second half of 2024 for the national conscription (female soldiers) is from July 1, 2024 to 24:00 on August 10, 2024.

Visa waiver reminder

Laos is visa-free for Chinese tourists for 15 days

The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos issued a document to implement a 15-day visa-free policy for tourists from Chinese mainland (mainland) and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan holding ordinary passports organized by the Lao Tourism Company. The document requires that the itinerary be organized by the Lao Tourism Company and approved by the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism. The policy will take effect on July 1, 2024 and will be valid until December 31, 2024.

China has tried visa-free access to three countries, including New Zealand

China has implemented a visa-free policy for holders of ordinary passports from three countries: New Zealand, Australia and Poland. During the period from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025, holders of ordinary passports from the above-mentioned countries can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transiting for no more than 15 days.
