(Picked up yesterday)

The existence of National Southwest Associated University in Kunming was from 1938 to 1946, and its predecessor was the National Changsha Provisional University, which was established on November 1, 1937. As soon as 1935, when the war in Beiping was intensifying, the government decided to relocate Nankai, Peking University and Tsinghua University to the mainland.

The Lugou Bridge Incident broke out, the Nankai campus was bombed, and moving south has become a top priority. The three schools opened in Changsha, and a few months later, the war in Changsha was urgent, and in February 1938, the government decided to move the temporary university to Yunnan and renamed it National Southwest Associated University. The students went to Yunnan in three ways: a lady and a frail boy traveled from Guangzhou to Yunnan via Hong Kong and Vietnam via the Jinghan Railway; part of it from Guilin along the Xianggui Highway to Yunnan via Liuzhou, Nanning and Vietnam; There are also more than 200 male students who organized a tour group of Hunan, Guizhou and Yunnan, with a journey of more than 3,200 miles and a duration of 68 days, crossing the three provinces of Hunan, Guizhou and Yunnan to reach Yunnan. By the way, in the Tsinghua University History Museum, there are pictures of this group of young men "traveling", which makes people's blood boil when they look at it.

In the eight years of National Southwest Associated University in Kunming, it has cultivated more than 3,300 graduates, including famous alumni such as Deng Jiaxian, Yang Zhenning, Li Zhengdao, Ma Shitu, Wang Zengqi, etc., almost all over the fields of science, engineering, literature, law, philosophy, and teachers, and 1,100 alumni have devoted their pens to Rong during their studies. It is a university that nurtures talents, and it is also a university that gives birth to heroes. In July 1946, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Nankai returned to their original schools, and the Normal College remained in Kunming, which was the predecessor of the current Yunnan Normal University.

The former site of National Southwest Associated University is on the campus of Yunnan Normal University.

Entering the campus by appointment from the side door, passing through several teaching buildings, I saw a lawn dozens of meters square, and there was a stone statue in the center of the lawn. I remember that there was a text in middle school called "The Last Speech", which was written by Mr. Wen Yiduo. After the speech, Mr. Wen Yiduo was assassinated.

The Southwest Associated University is now a red education base, across the lawn, I saw a group of people wearing white shirts, listening to a tour guide in the wah-la-wow explanation, it is estimated that the white shirts should be pinned with the party emblem, which quickly confirmed my judgment, because, in front of Mr. Wen Yiduo's clothed mound, they swore an oath to the party flag.

In order to avoid being disturbed by them, I was silent for a few minutes in front of the statue of Mr. Wen Yiduo. When they were far away, I was ready to walk under the door frame of the National Southwestern Associated University. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the school name plaque with white letters on a black background hangs in the air, which should not be the original appearance, and I think this is a way to commemorate. Such a design is solemn and solemn.

Through the plaque, you will enter the former site of the Southwest Associated University. On the left hand side is a teaching building, the first floor seems to be a tourist service center and the like, on the right is a memorial garden, in front of the garden is the bust of the three presidents of Southwest Associated University, which is the president of Peking University Jiang Menglin, Tsinghua President Mei Yiqi, Nankai President Zhang Boling, behind the statue is a relief wall, the front of the wall is composed of a relief pattern of "12.1", which is to commemorate the heroes in the "Kunming 12.1 tragedy".

Go further inside is the Memorial Hall of the Southwest Associated University, as well as the relief on the ground, after the relief is the mound of Mr. Wen Yiduo, and then inside is the famous Southwest Associated University Monument, Mr. Feng Youlan wrote, Mr. Wen Yiduo seal, Mr. Luo Yong Shudan, this is a cultural relic, but also the most precious souvenir of the former site of the Southwest Associated University.

Of course, in front of the monument, there is also the restored building of the Southwest Associated University campus, and I saw a few girls standing on the blackboard sitting in various poses and taking pictures, I was embarrassed to say more, it was a great honor to have a seat in the classroom back then, and young people were indeed a little ignorant. The Southwest Associated University Museum is a two-story Yunnan residence, which is being sorted out internally, just waiting for the opportunity in the future.

I wanted to be silent at the old site and feel the shadow of the master's activities here, but unfortunately, the surroundings were too lively, and I was afraid of noisy the sleeping master, so I had to leave quietly.

There is another place in Kunming that I really want to go, that is, Yunnan Jiangwutang, which is almost the earliest military school in China, Marshal Zhu De came out there, and it is the cradle of modern Chinese military strategists. Kunming reminds me of the Yunnan-Burma Highway, which is the end point of the main artery of material transportation during the Anti-Japanese War, during the Anti-Japanese War, the Yunnan-Burma Highway was only interrupted for 13 days, countless Yunnan ancestors, up to 80 old men, down to 8-year-old dolls, have joined the ranks of the Anti-Japanese War, and now there is a martyr cemetery dedicated to commemorating these child soldiers in Tengchong, Yunnan. If time permits, I should go to Tengchong.

My time in Kunming was very short, and in order to learn more about the city, I spent as much time as possible wandering through the streets and alleys, and in the process, I gained a new understanding of the city.

From the perspective of urban planning, the designers of the city still took some pains, although the old street is very old, but this does not affect the city's prosperity and modernity, the urban layout of the alternation of the old and the new, as if deliberately depicting a timeline of urban construction, along this axis, you can slowly perceive the changes of the times, as well as the footprints of Kunming people fighting for the city.

When I look at the people walking in a hurry on the street, I especially like to get into their hearts through their faces. Maybe it's because of the long-term border pass, most of the people on the street are introverted, they are not as happy to get acquainted with people as the northerners, and some people seem to have some old-fashioned looks on their faces, in fact, they all have a kind heart in their bodies. Many houses have long verandahs to ensure that when it rains, pedestrians can be sheltered from the elements, and some shops have benches in front of them to allow travelers to take a break, and at night, the corners of the benches can be used as temporary shelters for the homeless. This is a design that many cities don't have, it's casual, but it's heartwarming.

In the south of the colorful clouds, I saw the colorful clouds in the sky, and also perceived the color in the hearts of Kunming people, simple but not simple, enthusiasm is not exposed, honest and unassuming. My friend said that people on the plateau would react more slowly, but I understand it more because of the simplicity of nature. This colorful cloud passed by, and I felt the beauty.

South of the clouds, I will come again.
