That night, the freighter loaded with new energy vehicles set sail for Algeria, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and other places.
In the first half of the year, Taicang Customs supervised the export of 244,200 automobiles from Taicang Port, a year-on-year increase of 24.40%, including 81,300 new energy vehicles. In the first half of the year, Taicang Port exported 88,100 cars from the "Belt and Road" countries, a year-on-year increase of 42.18%.
In the automobile yard, He Yulong, the commander of the ro-ro operation at Haitong Taicang Wharf, directed the loading of vehicles in an orderly manner. Working at the terminal for many years, he has an intuitive feeling about the rapid growth of new energy vehicle exports: "In recent years, we have become more and more busy, a driver often has to drive seventy or eighty times, some time ago there was not enough manpower, and qualified commanders like me also have to help drive cars to load ships." ”
At present, China's new energy vehicle industry is at a critical moment of overtaking in corners, and compared with the strong demand for automobile exports, there is a large gap in the supply of shipping capacity. The waiting time for corporate booking is long, the shipping schedule is uncertain, and some domestic automobile manufacturers are holding orders but "it is difficult to find a cabin".
In order to adapt to the rapid growth trend of domestic automobile exports, Taicang Port Terminal continues to optimize the layout of the yard. "At present, our car yard covers an area of 250,000 square meters, which can stack more than 10,000 vehicles at the same time." Hao Yong, director of the automotive project department of Taicang International Container Terminal Co., Ltd., said that relying on the "special frame for foldable commercial vehicles" transportation mode, the storage space in the terminal site and the cabin of the transport ship is fully utilized, which greatly relieves the stacking pressure of new energy vehicles.
While doing a good job in the traditional ro-ro transportation, Taicang Port is also constantly increasing the strategic cooperation between ports and shipping, making every effort to ensure voyages and transportation capacity, and providing convenient and efficient vehicle logistics services for domestic automobile enterprises. Automobile companies only need to deliver the whole vehicle to the terminal, and Taicang Port is responsible for the logistics coordination and on-site execution of the "end-to-end commercial vehicle", and finally the vehicle is delivered to the overseas consignee through the process of packing, shipping and unpacking, so as to ensure that the needs of the enterprise are met to the greatest extent.
