It is reported that the rainfall collection area above the dam site of Shimen Reservoir is about 5 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 1.165 million cubic meters. Over the past 40 years, the reservoir has protected 4 villages and 5,050 villagers downstream, and has undertaken the irrigation task of 1,200 acres of farmland.
