At 16 o'clock in the afternoon of June 30, as the first car slowly drove into the Nanzhu Interchange Bridge, it marked the official completion and opening of the Nanzhu Avenue Node Bridge of the Nanzhu Avenue Node Bridge of the Wanhuan West Road Rapid Transformation Project, a key construction project undertaken by China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group. The opening of this traffic is of great significance to optimize the structure of Nansha's transportation network, realize the rapid connection with the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, and create a "half-hour traffic circle" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Wanhuan West Road is located in the core area of the Bay Area, Wanqingsha Plate, south of Nansha Port Area, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor and Nanzhong Expressway, and north to Dongxin Expressway and Nansha Port Expressway. After completion, it will break through the traffic bottleneck at the throat, further establish Nansha's status as a transportation hub in the geographical and geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and provide strong support for the strategic development of Nansha New Area.
The cross-line bridge completed and opened to traffic is an important node project of the rapid reconstruction project of Wanhuan West Road, with a length of 399 meters and a width of 26.7 meters. During the construction process, in the face of bottleneck problems such as pipeline relocation and land requisition and demolition, the project department actively connected with relevant units while continuously innovating the construction process to improve the construction efficiency on the basis of ensuring the quality and safety of the project. In addition, in order to cope with the complex and changeable weather environment, the project department organized the on-site construction team to compete for speed and be more advanced, and unslackened the implementation of various safety protection measures. The project management personnel keep an eye on the progress, strengthen the implementation, and reasonably arrange the interspersed processes. More than 100 builders kept an eye on the time nodes and target tasks, classified advancement, wall chart operations, and inverted construction periods, and made every effort to sprint to the main line opening period nodes.
As an important freight channel linking Nansha Port and Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, the rapid transformation project of Wanhuan West Road will greatly promote the interconnection of regional people, logistics and capital flows, accelerate the integration of port and city, improve the regional transportation service level of the Greater Bay Area, and form a more functional comprehensive transportation system, which will play a very important and far-reaching role in accelerating the integration of Nansha Free Trade Zone into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further building an international shipping and logistics center, and radiating and driving the formation of a more efficient and convenient modern transportation system in Guangdong Province.
