Recently, with the consent of the Northwest Power Grid, Unit 3 of the State Grid Gansu Liujiaxia Hydropower Plant was transferred and transported, marking the successful completion of the transformation of Unit 3 and the commissioning of power generation. So far, the annual main equipment overhaul of the plant has been fully completed, and all 8 hydro-generator sets have been put into operation, so as to meet the arrival of peak summer and flood control power generation in a healthy state.
As a major technical transformation project of State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company, the transformation of Unit 3 of Liujiaxia Hydropower Plant is of great significance to improve the health level of power generation equipment. The transformation of the whole machine began on October 10, 2023 and lasted 248 days, 16 days ahead of the planned construction period. It has successively completed the dismantling and dismantling of the old hydro-generator set, the installation and commissioning of the new hydro-generator set, and the installation of outlet circuit breakers. At the same time, the innovative application of digital thrust bearing monitoring system has further improved the digital and intelligent level of equipment.
It is understood that the No. 3 generating unit of Liujiaxia Hydropower Plant was put into operation in August 1972 for power generation, and from 1996 to 1998, the capacity was increased from 225,000 kilowatts to 260,000 kilowatts. In 2018, the stator and its ancillary equipment were replaced. Before this transformation, the generator had been in operation for 51 years, with a cumulative power generation of 49.658 billion kWh.
