According to the university information disclosure website on June 30, Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University admitted a total of 13,141 new students this year, of which 4,202 graduated from high schools in the Seoul area (32%), which is twice the average.

In stark contrast, the percentage of students from small and medium-sized cities in Korean metropolitan cities, special municipalities, small and medium-sized cities, and rural areas is significantly lower than the average, and the survey shows that 30.2% of the freshmen at SKY University are from small and medium-sized cities, which is lower than the overall average (41.3%), and the proportion of students from metropolitan cities and special municipalities is 15.9%, and the proportion of students from rural areas is only 12.3%.

Among the freshmen of Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University, 7,275 (55.4%) graduated from regular high schools, followed by self-regulated private high schools (14%), foreign high schools (9.3%), foreign Chinese high schools (8.2%), and elite high schools (3.9%).

*High schools in Korea can be divided into general high schools, specialized high schools (similar to vocational high schools in China), special purpose high schools (foreign Chinese language high schools, arts, science, and sports high schools), and self-discipline high schools (which do not follow the national curriculum and train students in self-discipline).
