What is the Electrical Equipment and Materials Safety Act (PSE)?
PSE (Product Safety of Electrical Appliance & Materials) certification (called "fit inspection" in Japanese) is a mandatory market access system for electrical appliances in Japan, and is an important part of the provisions of Japan's Electrical Appliance Safety Law, which divides electrical appliances into "specified electrical appliances" and "non-specified electrical appliances". Among them, "specific electrical appliances" includes 116 products; "Non-specific electrical appliances" contains 341 products, and the technical requirements include EMC and safety.
PSE-specific electrical appliances
PSE's certification for specific electrical appliances includes wires and cables, fuses, wiring appliances (electrical accessories, lighting appliances, etc.), current limiters, transformers, ballasts, electric heating appliances, electrical appliances for electric power applications (household appliances), electronic applications (high-frequency epilators), other AC electrical machinery and appliances (electric shock and insect killers, DC power supply units), and portable engines. The products in these catalogues must be certified by a third-party certification body authorized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan to enter the Japanese market, obtain a certification certificate, and affix the diamond-shaped PSE logo to the nameplate before they can be listed.
PSE is not a specific electrical appliance
The scope of PSE certification for non-specific electrical products is wires and cables, fuses, wiring appliances, transformers, ballasts, conduits, small AC motors, electric heating appliances, electric power application appliances, electronic application machinery and appliances, light source application machinery and appliances, and other AC electrical machinery and appliances. Products in these catalogs must be self-tested and self-declared to confirm compliance with Japan's electrical appliance technology standards, and the circular PSE logo is affixed to the nameplate before they can be marketed.

Specified Electrical Equipment & Materials (PSE)
1. A copy of the business record for the manufacture or import of electrical equipment and materials. The copy must contain the receipt seal and type classification table of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan; Alternatively, information related to the manufacture or import of electrical equipment and materials registered with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Security Net".
2. Photograph of the label (the PSE logo and the name of the notified supplier, as well as the name and voltage rating of the registered conformity assessment body, etc., must be clearly displayed on the product)
3. Certificate of Conformity (The document must be issued by a registered conformity assessment body and the model number that can confirm the rated nameplate value. ）
4. If there is a discrepancy between the name of the notifier on the label and the name in the business notice, please provide a certificate of approval from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

2. S Mark Certification Certificate (This document must contain information such as the model and rated voltage of the product, and must be consistent with the model of the ASIN; In addition, please provide a table of correspondence between the product model number and the ASIN before)
