About the Author
Mei Chunan, male, born in 1948, is a native of Jiujiang City, Jiangxi, a member of the Communist Party of China, a cadre in the national system, a national first-class calligrapher and painter, a calligrapher and painter of Chinese national rites, a inheritor of Chinese Maoti calligraphy, a distinguished professor of red culture at Jinggangshan Cadre Education College, a visiting professor at the Party School of the Jiujiang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, an expert member of the Jiujiang CPPCC Think Tank, and a member of the report group of the Municipal Customs Working Committee.
He was the first chairman of the Chinese Mao Calligraphy Art Committee (approved by the Art Professional Committee of the Chinese Cultural Management Society of the Ministry of Culture) and the director of the Mao Calligraphy Art Professional Committee of the Guangdong Traditional Culture Promotion Association. Senior member of the Folk Literature and Art Association of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
He used to be the executive director and honorary director of the Jiangxi Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles Folk Literature and Art Association.
He is currently a member of the Military Calligraphers and Painters Working Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, the president of the Beijing Huaxia Bangjiao Guoli Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and a researcher of the Advanced Research Class of the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts.
He serves as the chairman (legal representative) of Jiujiang Calligraphers and Painters Association, and the president of Jiujiang Lushan Maoti Calligraphy Art Research Institute.
In 2010, he was awarded the Chinese Art Person of the Year.
In 2015, he was awarded the honorary titles of National Artist of Virtue and Art and National Top Ten Mao Calligraphers.
In 2020, he was awarded the honorary title of People's Meritorious Artist.
Mei Chu'an's calligraphy works have won many national awards, and his works have been compiled into national calligraphy and painting publications, and many of his works have been collected by celebrities at home and abroad, and have been recognized and appreciated by Wang Dongxing, former vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Mei Chuan has 22 works listed as Chinese national gifts. His Maoist calligraphy work "Seven Laws - The People's Liberation Army Liberates Nanjing" was collected by the office building of the National People's Congress. His Chinese painting works won the Excellence Award of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts and was exhibited.
In 2021, the centenary of the founding of the party, he was awarded the title of Chinese calligraphy and painting model and Chinese powerful calligrapher and painter by relevant departments.
In July 2021, he was included in the compilation of "Chinese Influential Figures", and co-authored a collection of calligraphy and painting with Sun Xiaoyun, the current chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
In 2021, he celebrated the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and edited the calligraphy and painting collection of "Role Models of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters".
Founded the Lushan Cup Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition for 23 years (23 sessions), founded the China Dream Cup Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition for 12 years (12 sessions), founded the Chinese National Gift Cup Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition for 5 years (5 sessions), and founded the Great Man Song Cup Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition for 5 years (5 sessions). The literary and artistic story collection "Unmet Girlfriend" was published by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and many stories were published in national publications across the country. He has composed hundreds of lyrics, among which "Beautiful Jiujiang" is listed as the main song of the Jiujiang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government's external publicity, and its songs are broadcast on CCTV, and the creation of "Lushan Qijian Youlan Tea Song" is broadcast on Shanghai Dragon TV, the creation of the anti-epidemic song "Who Are You" was released on the learning power, and the creation of "Jiujiang Tea City Song" was released on today's headlines and other big network media, and was listed as the external propaganda song of Jiujiang Tea Market.
