Recently, the first batch of the Red Line of the Hidden Front of the Communist Party of China was released in Shanghai, and these ruins and relics have witnessed the magnificent history of hidden struggle and carry unusual legendary memories.
From the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China to the former site of the Central Special Science and Technology Organ, from the former site of the secret radio station to the former residence of the martyrs, people have walked into the red brick alleys, traced the red footprints of the revolutionary ancestors, and felt the glorious tradition of the hidden front and the contemporary connotation of national security.

In 1921, during the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the venue was suddenly attacked and harassed by secret agents, patrolled and investigated, and the meeting was forced to move to a cruise ship on the South Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. Wang Huiwu, the wife of Li Da, the representative of the meeting, stood guard at the bow of the ship and prepared a deck of mahjong tiles as cover. In the end, the meeting successfully completed the scheduled agenda, adopted the party program and resolutions, elected the party's central leading body, and clearly stated that "the party should be vigilant" and "especially alert", especially "when the party is in a state of secrecy, the party's important propositions and party membership should be kept secret". Therefore, it can be said that with the party, there is the party's intelligence protection work.

No. 48 Nanchang Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, No. 56 Taoerfeisi Road, formerly the French Concession, and the location of Datong Kindergarten, are the "red cradle" that witnesses the historical process of the Chinese revolution.

Since the Kuomintang carried out the "purging the party" campaign and the Shanghai organization of the Communist Party of China was forced to go underground, a large number of communists were arrested and killed and forced to flee, and their children were persecuted and scattered everywhere. In March 1930, in the name of the Chinese Revolutionary Mutual Masonic Association, a peripheral organization of the Party, Dong Jianwu, a member of the Central Special Branch, was in charge of the establishment of the first kindergarten run by the Party, Datong Kindergarten. Under the cover of being a pastor, Dong Jianwu raised more than 30 children of early party leaders and orphans of martyrs, including the three sons of Mao Zedong and Yang Kaihui, as well as the children of martyrs such as Peng Pai, Yun Daiying, Cai Hesen, and Yang Yin.

No. 73 Sinan Road, Shanghai, formerly No. 107 Masi South Road, was listed as "Zhou Mansion" during the Liberation War, which was actually the office of the CPC delegation in Shanghai for the negotiation of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and was the institution that led the work of the Southern National Control Zone.

In June 1946, the Party's secret enterprise, the Chinese Bank, provided the purchase costs, and the Party set up an office here. Since then, Zhou Enlai and Dong Biwu have met with people from all walks of life here on many occasions and held Chinese and foreign press conferences to expand and consolidate the revolutionary united front and make important contributions to the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people.

No. 9, Lane 420, Yan'an West Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai, and No. 9, Fukangli, Daxi Road, formerly the Public Concession, is the location of the first secret radio station of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

In 1929, Zhang Shenchuan, a member of the Central Special Branch, rented a building here and placed a radio transceiver with a power of only 50 watts here. Li Qiang, chief of the Fourth Section of the Central Special Branch, developed the short-wave radio station and was in charge of maintenance, and Zhang Shenchuan was in charge of the reporting service. In January of the following year, the station received the first telegram from Hong Kong, "The Guangxi Baise Uprising Has Been Successful," thus opening up the party's radio communications.

No. 81 Yuyuan Road, Shanghai, the former residence of Liu Changsheng, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is also one of the secret organs of the Shanghai Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The Shanghai Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, established in May 1947, unified the leadership of the work of the Party in the Yangtze River basin and the southwestern provinces, as well as in Pingjin. From 1946 until the liberation of Shanghai, Liu Changsheng and his wife lived on the second floor of this small building, and comrades from the Shanghai underground organization of the Communist Party of China often came here for meetings and discussions. At the same time, this building was also inhabited by many ordinary citizens, who did not know until after the liberation that many secret meetings were held here to study and deploy the important work of the Party, and made irreplaceable contributions to the effective cooperation with the People's Liberation Army in liberating and taking over Shanghai.

No. 14, Lane 930, Wuding Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai, and No. 6, Xiude Fang, Wuding Road, formerly a secret organ of the Central Special Branch, has now built a memorial hall of the former site of the Central Special Branch, and unveiled the National Security Education Base in April this year and opened to the public.

Founded in 1927, the Central Special Branch was the party's first relatively mature specialized intelligence and security agency. In 1930, the Central Special Branch set up a secret agency here. Under the strong leadership of the Party, the Central Special Branch waged a heroic and tenacious struggle against the Kuomintang and the reactionary organs of imperialism, made tremendous sacrifices, brilliantly fulfilled the tasks of defending the Party Central Committee, vigorously cooperating with the Red Army and the base areas, and pioneering the cause of radio communications.
A series of radio waves and a warning signal rubbed into the noise of the market like a wordless cry, stirring up a hundred years of reverberation; A western-style building and a private house are like a quiet rain sprinkled on the ten-mile ocean, setting off a thousand layers of huge waves; A "cradle" and a "fortress" stand above the waves like a silent lighthouse, illuminating the journey of thousands of miles.
Judging from the map, these "secret bases" are scattered in the huge Shanghai, hidden in smoke and dust, and are inconspicuous. However, it was precisely these sparks that made a torch into the sun in the cause of the hidden front, sounded the dark whistle of the people's liberation in the enemy camp, and radiated a dawn that pierced through the darkness.
