Yunnan is a typical area of biodiversity. Recently, researchers from Dali University discovered five new species of plants and animals in Cangshan, including one new plant species and four new insect species.
The new plant species discovered this time is named Cangshan Iris. There are about 300 species of iris in the world, mainly in the northern temperate zone, and about 60 species are currently found on the mainland.
Jiang Xianfeng, Ph.D. student, Dali University: This iris is different from the existing iris plants we have seen, and it was finally determined that it is a new iris species.
