In the past two days, Li Aihua, a villager in Taizisi Village, Xuanhua Town, was busy harvesting cumin, and in addition to the golden cumin, there were also green lettuce and soybeans in the field. Li Aihua told reporters that in recent years, her family has adopted the method of interplanting cumin to achieve more income per acre, and the average income per mu reached about 4,500 yuan last year.
Li Yuzhen, a villager from Leer Village, Xuanhua Town, has been interplanting cumin lettuce for many years, and has been able to achieve relatively stable economic benefits every year. "This year, more than four acres of cumin were planted, and last year's income was more than 3,000 yuan per mu, which is better than a single one." Li Yuzhen said.
In accordance with the development ideas of diversification, low input and high efficiency, Gaotai County actively guides farmers to plant characteristic cash crops scientifically, rationally and moderately, and promotes a variety of new intercropping models such as cumin + lettuce and cumin + soybeans, so as to realize the transformation and upgrading from a single planting model in the past to a diversified agricultural planting model, and effectively improve the average yield and economic benefits of crops per mu. This year, a total of 28,000 acres of cumin were planted in the county.
