Make an appointment to purchase tickets

1. The "Palace Museum" WeChat mini-program is the official ticket booking channel, and reservations can be made as early as 20:00 7 days before the visit. Annual Pass visitors are required to register at least one day in advance.

2. Minors under the age of 6 (inclusive) or under 1.2 meters tall (inclusive) do not need to make a reservation, but they need to be accompanied by an adult who has reserved tickets for verification and admission. Minors over the age of 6 still need to make a reservation. Minors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Each adult audience can lead a maximum of 3 minors under the age of 14.

3. The Palace Museum's 2024 Summer Vacation Measures for Rapid Reservation and Ticket Inspection for Minors will begin to accept reservation applications from June 26 and will be officially implemented from July 2. Groups of minors can make a quick appointment for the summer vacation through the email [email protected] 1-6 days in advance, and the specific requirements can be found in the "Palace Museum" WeChat mini-program or the official website.

Admission tips

1. The Palace Museum opens at 8:30, closes at 16:00 and closes at 17:00. Closed on Mondays (except public holidays). During the summer vacation, 8:30 to 11:00 is the peak time for admission, and the queue time for security check and ticket inspection is long. Customer service number: 400-950-1925

2. The entrance to visit is the noon gate, which can be reached by walking from the direction of Tiananmen Square - Duanmen Gate, Donghuamen Street - Que Left Gate, Xihuamen Street - Que Right Gate. The Visitor Service Center is located south of the Wumen Gate and west of Duanmen Square, providing ticketing consultation (including senior ticket service), luggage storage, convenient consultation, convenient medicine box and other services. The security check and ticket gates are located south of the noon gate. After the tour, please leave the hospital through Shenmu Gate and Donghua Gate.

3. Visitors with large luggage and items listed in the "Catalogue of Prohibited Items in the Palace Museum" need to go to the storage area of the Visitor Service Center on the west side of Duanmen Square to store their luggage and belongings, and then go to the security check area at the noon gate to avoid repeated queues. If you are using a wheelchair or stroller, please check in through the barrier-free passage. Elderly visitors over the age of 60 and those with reduced mobility can check in from the Love Channel. Visitors without bags can pass through the ticket inspection through the lanes without bags. Please use the original ID card to check the ticket, so that the ticket inspection system can quickly identify and pass.

1. The "Palace Museum" WeChat Mini Program provides electronic "map guides", which recommend fast tour routes, in-depth tour routes, summer cool routes, barrier-free tour routes, including audio guides, and can also query the specific locations of various exhibitions, manual explanation services, audio guide services, catering, cultural and creative services, bookstores, toilets, broadcasting rooms, first-aid stations, police stations and other service places.

2. 3. If you have physical symptoms such as heat stroke, or in case of emergency, you can seek help from the nearest staff, or call the Forbidden City First Aid Station (010-85007120).

Tips for visiting

1. Please take care of the World Cultural Heritage of the Palace Museum, smoking is prohibited in the Palace Museum, climbing ancient buildings, furnishing cultural relics, rockeries, ancient trees and famous trees, etc., and it is forbidden to touch, carve and deface ancient buildings, cultural relics and exhibits.

2. Please consciously maintain the order of the visit, and it is forbidden to conduct all kinds of performances, publicity, interviews, social surveys, religious activities, sales of goods or services, commercial photography and other non-visiting activities in the hospital. It is forbidden to carry out self-media live broadcasts and recording activities in the exhibition hall, it is forbidden to eat and drink in the exhibition hall, set up easels, and it is forbidden to use flash, selfie sticks and bracket photographic equipment to shoot in the exhibition hall.

3. There are many steps, steep slopes, and uneven roads in the Palace Museum, please pay attention to the warning signs. Do not stay under the eaves, next to trees, near rocks, or in narrow passages for long periods of time. In case of various emergencies, accidents or extreme weather, please follow the guidance of the staff or broadcast the prompts to evacuate in an orderly manner.

Rapid reservation and ticket inspection measures for minors groups

1. Groups organized by independent legal entities with more than 85% minors can make a quick reservation for group minors tickets through email [email protected] 1-6 days in advance, and adult tickets in the group need to be reserved separately. When submitting a reservation request, you must indicate the reservation time slot for adult tickets.

2. Each email can only be submitted to one group of minors, and the "Application Form for Reservation for Visiting" (Appendix 1), "List of Visitors" (Appendix 2), and "Letter of Commitment" (Appendix 3) can be submitted according to the regulations.

3. The Forbidden City is limited to 400 minors per day, and the applicant will be notified of the appointment result by email until the appointment expires.

4. In order to ensure the safety of minors, each group of minors is limited to 30 minors, and the ratio of adults to minors in the team shall not be less than 1:10, and the total number of minors in the team shall be limited to 35 people. Adults and minors will be screened according to this ratio at the time of ticket checking, and those who do not meet the requirements will be refused admission.

5. On the day of the visit, the adult leader of the group must go to the ticket service window No. 8 on the west side of Duanmen Square to go through the admission procedures with the original signed and stamped copy of the "Application Form for Reservation for Visit", "List of Visitors" and "Letter of Commitment" that are consistent with the information in the reservation email.

6. Groups of minors can enter the hospital from the noon gate with the "List of Visitors" and the admission voucher received at the ticket window. During peak hours, our hospital will open a special channel for minors.

7. If it is found that the actual admission of the minor group is inconsistent with the "Visitor List" in the reservation email, the Palace Museum has the right to refuse the admission of the group and cancel the qualification of the unit for the 2024 summer minor group.

8. Groups of minors must abide by the "Instructions for Visiting the Palace Museum" and the "Catalogue of Prohibited Items in the Palace Museum", obey the management of the on-site staff, and do not hinder the normal visit of other visitors. If the above regulations are violated, the Palace Museum has the right to refuse the admission of the group to visit the hospital and cancel the qualification of the unit for the 2024 summer group of minors.

9. This measure will be implemented from July 2 to August 31, 2024. From June 26, 2024, we will start accepting applications for groups of minors to make an appointment for visits.
