On June 26, the Zhangdang Court of the Dongzhou District People's Court and the Zhangdang (Town) Judicial Office successfully mediated a case of compensation for crop damage caused by spraying pesticides by 8 farmers against the defendant, which was concluded in less than 10 days from the filing to the conclusion of the case, which not only recovered the losses of the parties to the greatest extent, but also prevented the intensification of the conflict and maintained a harmonious and stable neighborhood relationship between the villagers.
It turned out that from May 23 to 30, 2024, shortly after the defendant sprayed pesticides (Roundup) on the ridges of his rice field, eight farmers in the vicinity of the pesticide spraying land found that the corn seedlings near the roadside had partially died.
After understanding the facts of the case, the presiding judge Pu Shi considered that the number of plaintiffs in this case was relatively large, and in order to fundamentally resolve the dispute and prevent the conflict from intensifying, he immediately went to the damaged cornfield with the Zhangdang (Town) Judicial Office to inspect the scene at the same time.
