At the same time, the BWF said in a statement that it would thoroughly review the death of Zhang Zhijie.

In a statement, the BWF said that all necessary measures are being taken to thoroughly review the tragic death of Zhang Zhijie on the court in consultation with the Asian Badminton Federation and the Indonesian Badminton Association.

In a statement, the BWF shifted the blame to the Asian Badminton Federation. The statement said that although the BWF has a complete set of medical guidelines and instructions for use by other governing bodies to run events that are sanctioned by the BWF.
