On average, two to three hundred billion navigation signals are produced every day, accounting for almost half of the world's total. This is amazing, when I hear this number, it is called a jaw drop, this is much more scary than the big data that is hundreds of millions of dollars at every turn! I wondered, what the hell is this Beidou, why is it so good? Think about it again, doesn't the United States claim to have the world's first GPS satellite navigation system, how does this Beidou compare others? Also, let's take a good motherland, what are you doing here to make this thing, is it too much? The more I think about it, the more confused I become, and I have to take care of it.
If you want to say that this Beidou didn't come out in a day or two, it has a background! Tracing back to the roots, we have to start from the end of the 60s of the last century. At that time, we couldn't even launch a decent satellite, let alone build a navigation system. However, we are not without ideas, and we have been thinking that we must also have a space dream. The hard work paid off, and in the 70s, we finally launched the first artificial satellite "Dongfanghong No. 1", and this time we raised our eyebrows! Then, in the 80s, we began to think about the Beidou satellite navigation system.
In the beginning, we planned to build 24 satellites to circle more than 40,000 kilometers above the earth and transmit navigation signals back to the ground. In 2003, the first phase of the Beidou project was completed, basically realizing the domestic coverage. According to official information, the positioning accuracy of the Beidou-1 system reached 100 meters at that time, and it could reach 20 meters after ground correction, which was about the same as the civilian accuracy of GPS at that time. However, the United States and Russia also have their own satellite navigation systems, and our Beidou Phase I is not enough to see in the world. So, in 2005, we decided to make persistent efforts and start building the Beidou-2 system.
This construction is really incredible, that's called a life plus! The number of satellites has multiplied several times at once, and the signal coverage has expanded to the whole world. By the end of 2012, 14 satellites of the Beidou-2 system had flown in space, officially starting to provide services to this large area of the Asia-Pacific region. Not to mention, in 2012, we began to work on Beidou-3, which is called a full horsepower rush forward, and the number of satellites was raised to 35 in one go. By 2020, the Beidou-3 system will be fully completed, and the total number of satellites will exceed 60, which is called a magnificent and mighty and domineering!
In this way, with the advantages of large number and wide coverage, Beidou suddenly accounted for most of the global satellite navigation market. Don't look at the Americans have been boasting about their GPS, but GPS has a hard flaw, that is, in buildings, valleys, and other places, the signal is easy to lose, which is called unreliable. On the other hand, our Beidou, which can be navigated and positioned in any corner of the world, and the signal strength is several times that of GPS.
