On July 1, 2024, Dongcheng Street and Jintan District Writers Association jointly held the launch ceremony and book donation ceremony of "Hetou" with the theme of "Retaining Rural Memories and Empowering Rural Revitalization".
The book "Hetou" is the result of the cultural cooperation between Dongcheng Street, Hetou Village Committee and District Writers Association. After more than a year of interviews and compilation, a collection of documentary essays reflecting the regional characteristics and humanities and history of Hetou was presented to readers on the occasion of the "July 1st" Party Day.
At the launch ceremony, Tang Yunxiang, chairman of the District Writers Association, gave a brief explanation of the process and significance of the creation of the book.
Sun Kai, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Dongcheng Street, Zhang Yang, Director of Dongcheng Street Office, Tang Yunxiang, Chairman of the District Writers Association, and Ma Jinfang, Secretary of the General Party Branch of Hetou Village, donated books to the village committee (community) of Hetou Town, as well as the district library, Hetou primary and secondary schools, kindergartens and other units.
The book is divided into four chapters: "Past and Present", "Customs", "Celebrities and Sages" and "Years Like Water", which show the history, culture, characters, legends, food and other memories of the Hetou area in the form of literature, and retain the nostalgia for the people who have lived, studied and worked in Hetou.
This cultural cooperation is a good demonstration of the profound cultural connotation of Dongcheng. The street will take this cooperation as a starting point to further strengthen the horizontal exchange of culture, continue to explore the history and humanity of Dongcheng, and empower the construction of neighborhoods and rural revitalization. At the same time, it will also organize the book "Hetou" into the campus, into the community, into the enterprise activities, to carry out reading sharing meetings, good book promotion meetings, etc., so that more people can understand and love Dongcheng, and strive to build Dongcheng cultural brand and highlights!
