Certina's diver's watches, such as the DS Super PH500M, DS PH200M and DS Action Diver, are beautifully designed, powerful and affordable. Last year, the brand went one step further and released the DS Super PH1000M watch, drawing inspiration from vintage models from the 1970s. Now, Certina is supporting the non-profit organization, which was founded in 2017, with the launch of the new Sea Turtle Conservation Society Edition (model: C024.907.17.041.10).
The new watch has a diameter of 43.50 mm and a thickness of 14.15 mm. Crafted from stainless steel with brushed brushed steel, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and a closed caseback engraved with the Turtle Conservation Society's logo, the tonneau-shaped case is water-resistant to 1,000 metres and is durable for deep diving.
The unidirectional rotating bezel has an aluminium insert and marks the 60-minute diving scale. The edges are fluted for easy grip and adjustment. At the same time, the bezel is equipped with a safety system to prevent accidental rotation. In addition, there is a helium escape valve at 9 o'clock, which opens and closes automatically according to the pressure difference, ensuring that the pressure inside and outside the watch is balanced.
The dial has an aqua blue color that echoes the bezel inserts, and against this background, the hour markers and the orange minute hand contrast clearly and legibly. The central hand, the appliquéd indexes and the inverted triangle markers on the bezel are coated with Super-LumiNova to ensure excellent legibility even in underwater environments. At the same time, there is a date window at 3 o'clock on the dial.
Powered by the Powermatic 80.611 automatic calibre, a 25-jewel movement with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and a Nivachron anti-magnetic balance spring, it offers a power reserve of 80 hours.
