Android security patch update for Pixel devices
The latest Android security patches have begun to be released for various Pixel models, including Pixel 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, tablets, foldables, 8, 8 Pro, and 8a. This update comes on the heels of the previous QPR3 update and shows a faster turnaround time compared to the delays experienced last month. It's worth noting that the Pixel watch update was first introduced earlier this week, ahead of the update for Pixel devices.
Security fixes and vulnerabilities
The July Security Patch for Android addresses a total of 10 security issues with patch date 2024-07-01 and also addresses 19 issues with patch date 2024-07-05. These vulnerabilities are classified from high to critical. In addition, Google's dedicated announcement for its devices highlights four additional security fixes included in this update. The Pixel 8 series received a unique .005 build, while all other devices were on the .004 build this month. In addition, there is a Telus Australia build specifically for the Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and 8a models.
