Every time I pass by the "Big Bank" at the south gate of Mingde Road in Urumqi (a landmark building in Urumqi and one of the top ten landscapes), I always inadvertently stop and admire it from all directions. Think about it: this old Slavic building with its ivory exterior must have many very interesting stories to tell.
The "Big Bank" is the most eye-catching heritage building on Mingde Road. Construction began in 1943 and was completed in 1945. According to historical records, most of the houses in the city of Dihua (the old name of Urumqi) were mud bungalows, and the better buildings were brick houses, with only a few buildings, and the "big bank" was one of them.

There is a huge bronze statue standing next to the left hand, and the author recognizes it at a glance: the great man of the world - Lenin, and almost shouts: Vladimir · Ilyich· Lenin (when I was a child, I watched the movie "Lenin in October" and remembered Lenin's full name).
The bronze statue (4.7 meters high and weighing 3.45 tons) is a realistic sculpture, with Lenin holding his hat in his right hand and the collar of his coat in his left hand, walking with his chest held high, as if he was hurrying to the factory and the countryside to give a speech.
Looking up at the bronze statue of Lenin, the wonderful and shocking speech scene of the movie "Lenin in 1918" in the factory comes to mind: "Let's let the bourgeoisie go crazy, let those worthless souls weep, comrades workers, this is our answer, plus three times the vigilance and caution and patience, everyone should keep their posts, comrades, you must remember that we have only one way out, and that is victory, and there is another way out - death, death does not belong to the working class!" At this moment, the applause was thunderous.
Lenin was a great banner. Chairman Mao Zedong once pointed out in "On the People's Democratic Dictatorship": "The October Revolution brought us Marxism-Leninism with the sound of a cannon. ”
The "Big Bank" has witnessed many historical moments and grand scenes. The "Big Bank" and the bronze statue of Lenin, two cultural relics with historical connections, are perfectly combined, shining brightly, making people's hearts surging and their hearts cannot be calm for a long time.
This old black-and-white photo: On December 17, 1949, the Xinjiang Provincial People's Government and the Xinjiang Military Region were established, and Peng Dehuai, Zhang Zhizhong, Wang Zhen, Bao Erhan, Tao Zhiyue, Sai Fuding and others inspected the troops entering the city on the stone steps in front of the big bank.
Although the old photographs are old, people can still recognize many people from them, and they can feel the grandeur of the time.
Today, it is the location of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Urumqi Mingde Road Branch.
