During the "two festivals", in order to let the poor families in the jurisdiction feel the warmth of the festival and the care of the society, the New Era Civilization Practice Station and Social Work Station of Dongcuri Community, Haiqing Street, organized college student volunteers from Polytechnic University to carry out a visit to poor families, and sent them moon cakes and sincere blessings.
On the day of the event, the college student volunteers came to the community early, dressed in uniform volunteer clothes, full of energy and enthusiasm. Under the leadership of the community staff, the volunteers were divided into two groups and visited the poor families one by one with carefully prepared mooncakes. At each of the poor families, the volunteers talked to them cordially, learned more about their living conditions, physical conditions and practical difficulties, and encouraged them to be confident and brave in the face of life's difficulties. At the same time, the volunteers also gave them mooncakes to express their holiday wishes. The members of the poor families expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers for coming, and they all said that they felt the love and warmth from the community during this special festival, which made them full of hope for their future life.
This visit and condolence activity not only sent material help to poor families, but more importantly, gave them spiritual comfort and encouragement. Through this activity, the college student volunteers also deeply experienced the plight of poor families and strengthened their sense of social responsibility and mission. They have expressed that they will continue to actively participate in community volunteer service activities in the future, provide help to more poor families and vulnerable groups, and contribute to the construction of a harmonious society.
