The 5th China-Turkey Exchange Forum with the theme of "Deepening Reform to Lead a New Journey and Expanding Opening Up to Bring New Opportunities" was recently held in Istanbul, Turkey.

Liu Dawei, deputy director of CIPG, said in his speech at the forum that China and Turkey are both ancient civilizations, large developing countries and members of the "Global South", and have broad consensus on pursuing the development and rejuvenation of their respective countries and safeguarding the norms of international relations. It is timely and of great significance to hold this forum in the context of China-Turkey exchanges.
Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Liu Shaobin said that China is willing to work with Turkey to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, continuously consolidate political mutual trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and promote the all-round, in-depth and high-level development of China-Turkey strategic cooperative relations.
Osman · Boylaz, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey, said in his speech that Turkey has been a bridge connecting Asia, Europe and even Eastern and Western civilizations since ancient times, and is an important gateway to Europe. Turkey and China will continue to go hand in hand, make full use of this unique advantage, deepen practical cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, science and technology, jointly push bilateral relations to a new level, and make new and greater contributions to world peace and development.

During the exchange, the participating experts said that China's continuous reform and opening up is not only crucial to China's economic transformation, but also to the global economic development. Think tanks, universities and media in China and Turkey should take active action and play a role in actively promoting dialogue and cooperation in various fields, so as to build more bridges for exchanges and interactions between the two countries.
The forum was co-sponsored by CIPG, the Chinese Embassy in Turkey, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Istanbul and the Turkuvaz Media Group of Turkey, and attended by nearly 100 people from think tanks, universities, media and business associations in China and Turkey. During the forum, the China-themed book fair of "Mutual Learning and Governance Wisdom to Build a Cooperative Future" was also held.
