The first 8 months of the year
There were 36,000 fires in high-rise buildings on the mainland
That's more than the whole of 2023 combined
A total of 203 people died
Yesterday (25th)
The National Fire and Rescue Agency held a press conference
The national fire safety situation from January to August this year was reported
From the point of view of the type of building
The risk of death from fires in high-rise buildings is high
In particular, there were 2 cases this year
Major fires in high-rise buildings
01
The "2 · 23" residential fire in Yuhuatai District, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, killed 15 people and injured 44 others.
02
A major fire in the "7·17" shopping mall in Huidong District, Zigong, Sichuan Province, killed 16 people and injured 39 others.
The danger of fire in high-rise buildings is enormous
Being on fire
To run or not to run? Where to run?
Once the selection is wrong
will pose a deadly threat to us
Let's learn high-level fire safety knowledge together!
01. What is a high-rise building?
High-rise buildings refer to residential buildings with a building height greater than 27 meters and non-single-storey factories, warehouses and other civil buildings with a building height greater than 24 meters. According to the mainland residential design code, buildings with one to three floors are low-rise, buildings with four to six floors are multi-storey, buildings with seven to nine floors are mid-rise, and buildings with ten floors and above are high-rise residences.
Fires in high-rise buildings are generally characterized by high danger, difficult evacuation, and difficult to extinguish. Fires tend to spread upwards quickly in a short period of time, due to the "chimney effect" created by tall buildings.
The "chimney effect" refers to the phenomenon of indoor air rising or falling along a vertical slope of space, causing air convection. Experiments have proved that a 30-storey, 100-meter-high building can travel from the first floor to the top floor in just 30 seconds if a fire breaks out.
Then in the event of a fire
What should we do?
Many people think
As long as you can use a fire extinguisher and run outside, there is no problem
However, the complexities of the fire are often overlooked
and other dangers that may arise from this at any time
Therefore, it is not recommended that minors directly participate in fire fighting
For kids
Master the correct self-rescue and escape skills
and can be timely to adults
or the fire department informs you of the fire, which is the most important thing
02. How to escape from a fire in a high-rise building?
What should I do if the fire is above the floor?
When we confirm that the fire started above the floor and there is no smoke in the corridor, it goes without saying that we should evacuate and try not to stay in the house to prevent the fire from spreading or encountering other dangers such as explosions. At the same time, you must race against time when escaping, do not covet property, and do not delay the escape time because of greed.
It is strictly forbidden to take the elevator during the evacuation, and must take the stairs to evacuate, because the occurrence of fire often causes power outages, once the power is out, the personnel will be trapped in the elevator, and a large amount of smoke will be channeled into the elevator shaft, so that the trapped people inhale a large number of toxic and harmful gases, causing shock or suffocation.
What should I do if the fire is below the floor?
If the fire layer is below your location, remember not to try to break through the fire layer lightly, and move towards the refuge level as soon as possible. If possible, you can also wrap your body in a wet quilt and bend over to move in a low posture.
If you can't reach the refuge floor or the roof is locked, you should choose an evacuation location as soon as possible, and when choosing an evacuation location, you should try to get as close as possible to the room in the main passage of the building, so that rescuers can find the scene as soon as they arrive.
Tips: An evacuation floor is a floor that is used for emergency evacuation in the event of a fire. Generally, high-rise buildings of more than 100 meters are equipped with evacuation floors.
How to deal with the fire in front of the door?
If the fire point is very close to us, be sure to touch the doorknob before going out, if you feel hot when touching the doorknob, the flame of opening the door is bound to rush head-on, you should return to the room, soak the bed sheet, quilt cover, etc. after sealing the door crack, seek rescue by the window, waving bright clothes during the day, waving a flashlight or knocking on the metal basin at night, etc.
Calm down to the police, when to call the police, and how to call the police?
First of all, it is important to understand how "fire" is defined, which refers to uncontrolled burning in time and space. When a fire breaks out, we must call 119 as soon as possible.
When calling the police, keep calm and explain to the 119 operator the detailed address where the fire occurred, the size of the fire, what the fire is, whether there are chemicals or explosives, whether there are people trapped, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to immediately wait for the arrival of fire and rescue personnel at the intersection, so as to guide the fire rescue personnel to quickly rush to the scene of the fire.
