In the field of cable industrial production and quality control of cables, the diameter measurement of cables is a crucial task. Accurate diameter data is not only related to product performance and safety, but also has a direct impact on production efficiency and cost control. A high-performance in-line caliper can provide critical data support for production quality control, product development, etc. This time, we will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the JG01-DG / JG01Z-DG series single-axis diameter gauge cable diameter gauge and explore its performance in depth.
1. Appearance and design
This cable caliper has a rugged metal housing, and the overall shape is simple and elegant, with a good sense of industrial design. Its size is moderate, embedded intelligent terminal, reasonable layout of the operation panel, touch screen operation, clear identification and flexible operation, which is convenient for operators to get started quickly. The instrument is equipped with a clear display and an external display, which can display the measurement data in real time, and the readings are intuitive and clear, and can also be observed remotely. In terms of appearance design, the ergonomic principle is fully considered, and the installation and use are relatively comfortable, which meets the operation needs of the actual production scene.
2. Measurement accuracy
The annotation accuracy of the cable caliper is plus or minus 0.01mm, which meets the required accuracy of the cable. The actual test is carried out below.
Static measurement accuracy
We performed a static accuracy test on the cable caliper using a standard gauge block. In the measurement of several gauge blocks with different diameters, the caliper performed very well with very small measurement errors. For example, for a gauge block with a nominal diameter of 5 mm, the measurement results are stabilized at 6.004 mm (a very small error value, within the acceptable range) several times, and the deviation from the standard value is almost negligible. This shows that the instrument is able to accurately measure the diameter of the cable in a static environment, providing a reliable guarantee for high-precision production.
Dynamic measurement accuracy
In order to simulate the movement of the cable on the actual production line, the cable is dynamically measured by a caliper at a certain speed. At different linear speeds, the instrument is still able to maintain high accuracy measurements. For example, when the cable speed is 10m/min, the continuous measurement of a variety of diameters of the cable is carried out, the fluctuation range of the measured value is small, and the error between the average measured value and the actual value is within a reasonable range, which meets the accuracy requirements of the cable and cable. Through many experimental verifications, the caliper can quickly respond to the change of cable diameter in dynamic measurement, and accurately give the measurement results, which effectively meets the needs of online real-time detection of the production line.
The measuring frequency of the caliper is 500/2000Hz, which means that the measurement speed of 10m/min is far from the upper limit of the product speed that can be measured, and its measurement principle and various technologies shorten the exposure time of the probe to 20 microseconds, which can detect products at various speeds.
3. Measurement range
JG01-DG / JG01Z-DG series single-axis caliper has a wide measuring range, which can adapt to the measurement needs of different specifications of cables. It can measure very small diameters of 0.1 mm and maximum diameters of up to 55 mm. In the actual test, we measured different diameter ranges of cables, from small electronic wires to thicker power cables, and the instrument accurately measured and displayed the results. In addition, there are other types of cables that provide detection of thicker cables, and can also detect the outer diameter of 3 meters, this wide measurement range allows the caliper to find the right model in a variety of cable production, with high practicability, greatly improving its scope of application and versatility.

The experimental results showed that the instrument was able to detect the presence of the cable and start the measurement in a very short time, showing the measurement data quickly. This fast response capability ensures that production efficiency is not compromised by measurement delays on the production line, and that cable diameters can be monitored and adjusted in a timely manner.
Frequency of data updates
The data update frequency of the instrument is also high, and the measurement data can be updated at a rate of 2-3 times per second during the continuous measurement process (note: this frequency is not the detection frequency, but the frequency set for people to observe the measurement data more clearly, and can also be adjusted according to their own needs). This allows the operator to observe trends in cable diameter changes in real time and detect anomalies in time. For example, if there is a sudden fluctuation in the diameter of the cable during the production process (500/2000Hz high-frequency measurement, the non-conforming product is preferred), the operator can be aware of it in time and take corresponding measures to ensure the stability of product quality.
