For the second time in a row, the order intake fell to EUR 4.6 billion (2022/23: EUR 5.1 billion), a decrease of 10.4 percent compared to the previous year. Operating profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) decreased by 114 million euros to 501 million euros due to lower sales compared to the previous year (615 million euros). The EBIT margin fell to 9.7 percent (prior year: 11.5 percent).

TRUMPF's largest single marketThe single market with the highest sales was Germany, with 824 million euros (previous year: 779 million euros), an increase of 5.8 percent. However, sales in the United States fell sharply by 11.5 percent to EUR 796 million (previous year: EUR 899 million). In China, Asia's largest market, TRUMPF achieved steady sales growth, up slightly by 2.2 percent to EUR 615 million (previous year: EUR 602 million).
Business UnitsIn terms of business units, the Machine Tools division accounted for the largest share with EUR 2.8 billion (previous year: EUR 3.0 billion). This was followed by Laser Technology, with sales of EUR 1.4 billion in the reporting year (prior year: EUR 1.5 billion, adjusted for Electronics).
Since the 2023/24 financial year, the Electronics division is no longer part of the Laser Technology division but is accounted for separately and has sales of 572 million euros. This represents a slight increase of 4.8 percent compared to the previous year (546 million euros). At the same time, sales in the extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) business for chip manufacturing amounted to EUR 943 million, a slight decrease of 2.9 percent compared to the previous year (EUR 971 million).
Development of the number of employeesDuring the reporting period, the total number of TRUMPF employees increased by around 650. In particular, new jobs have been created in the EUV and electronics business areas. As of June 30, 2024, the company had a total of 19,018 employees worldwide (up from 18,352 in the previous year). In Germany, the number of employees increased to 9,505 (prior year: 9,124), an increase of 4.2 percent year-on-year. A total of 6,283 people work at the headquarters in Dietzingen, Gringen, Heitingen and Huffingen. During the year, 560 young people completed a training course or a cooperative work-study program, representing 2.9 percent training, slightly lower than the previous year's 3.5 percent.
