The Chongtai Yangtze River Tunnel of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Rong High-speed Railway is currently being excavated at an average speed of 10-20 meters per day from Chongming to Taicang, Jiangsu. Today (October 20th), the "Pilot" successfully excavated to the 1000th ring, from soft ground to sandy ground, to meet new challenges.
At the construction site of the "Pilot" shield machine of the Chongtai Yangtze River Tunnel of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Rong High-speed Railway, which is more than 50 meters underground, the construction of all links is progressing in an orderly manner. The segment crane is like a huge "crane machine", grabbing a 16-ton segment and slowly placing it on the segment transport vehicle, which then sends the segment to the segment automatic assembly machine at the front end of the shield. The shield machine excavates 2 meters forward, and the segment automatic assembly machine completes the assembly of the first ring of segments.
Since its successful launch at the end of April this year, the "Pilot" shield machine has been excavated to 1,000 rings, with a total length of 2 kilometers, and has entered 1,108 meters.
In addition, after the shield machine excavates to 1000 rings, it also enters the sandy layer from the soft soil layer, and the geology in which it is located contains hard cement, so the shield cutter is more prone to wear. Therefore, during the tunneling process, it is necessary to pay close attention to the condition of the shield cutterhead.
Fu Bowei, deputy chief engineer of the Chongtai Yangtze River Tunnel Project, told reporters that they will strictly control the speed of the cutterhead during construction, and equip the shield machine with a tool wear detection system to observe the cutters every day, and once they find that there is wear, they will formulate a response strategy in time.
The "Pilot" shield machine is an atmospheric cutterhead, and the cutter can be changed under normal pressure. During the tunneling process, when the wear of the detection tool reaches a certain level, the tool will be replaced in time.
The world's largest diameter high-speed rail shield machine "Pilot" needs to cross 11,325.5 meters alone, and excavate at the deepest depth of 89 meters under the Yangtze River, facing technical difficulties such as ultra-high water pressure, ultra-long tunneling distance, complex geological conditions, and sensitive environment and other eight intelligent construction systems, the intelligent concept and technology are deeply embedded in the whole process of tunnel construction, and the tunnel excavation is "manned and unmanned". After the tunnel is completed, it will be the first time to achieve the feat of high-speed rail crossing the Yangtze River without slowing down, and it is expected that it will take only 17 minutes to reach Shanghai Baoshan Station via Taicang
