Wang Yi said: Afghanistan is China's neighbor, and the two peoples have had long-standing exchanges. China respects Afghanistan's exploration of a development path and governance model suited to its own national conditions, respects Afghanistan's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and respects the objective reality of the Afghan Interim Government's governance throughout the country. It is hoped that Atta will unite all ethnic groups and factions, achieve stability, restore development and truly put the future and destiny of Afghanistan in the hands of the people. China is willing to work with the international community to promote the true implementation of the principle of "Afghan ownership and Afghan leadership" in Afghanistan and to play a constructive role in this regard.

Wang Yi said that China is concerned about the difficulties facing Afghanistan, especially the possible humanitarian crisis, and is willing to continue to lend a helping hand and provide assistance within its capabilities. The first batch of humanitarian assistance provided by the Chinese side has arrived in Kabul, and it will continue to provide further emergency material assistance through the International Federation of Red Cross Societies and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as well as coordinate with local provinces and regions of China. China appreciates Atta's understanding and attention to China's major security concerns, and believes that Atta will take more resolute and decisive practical actions to combat the international terrorist force of the "East Turkestan Islamic Movement". We are willing to explore cooperation in the field of economic reconstruction after the situation is stabilized and security conditions are in place, and support Afghanistan in giving full play to the geographical advantages of the "Heart of Asia", strengthening interconnection with the region, and enhancing its ability to develop independently.

Mutaki said that the situation in Afghanistan has gradually stabilized, and the new Afghan government has achieved actual governance of Afghanistan. After 45 years of war, Afghanistan cherishes peace and is willing to carry out equal and friendly cooperation with all countries. The Afghan side highly appreciates China's principle of non-interference in its internal affairs and hopes to communicate with China and develop all-round cooperation. The Afghan side thanked The Chinese side for its support and assistance, and will use China's assistance to improve people's livelihood while striving to achieve independent development. Afghanistan will promote regional peace and security while working to achieve its own security and stability. Mutaji stressed: Atta will never allow anyone or force to use Afghan territory to engage in things that endanger China.

The two sides agreed to set up a working liaison mechanism to discuss the next step of exchanges.
