Chengdu Qinglong Lake

Some experts and scholars have verified through the old residents nearby that there was once a family in Qinglong Lake, whose owner was named Ma Duanyong, and threatened to be the descendant of Zhu Yuanzhang, who had been a tomb keeper of Qinglong Lake for generations, but unfortunately this old man had already died in the 1970s.

After many trips, he finally found his grandson Zhu Wuyuan, who stated that in the late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the Zhu ethnic group in Sichuan and Shu changed the Zhu surname to Ma surname, that is, empress Ma, until his grandfather died and re-restored the Zhu surname. As for the origin of Qinglong Lake, Zhu Wuyuan said that Qinglong Lake was called Baita Lake before the Ming Dynasty, and during the Ming Dynasty, because the Shu King Zhu Youyu loved Concubine Zhao fei and buried it, it was also called Zhao Fei Lake.

According to legend, during the Hongwu period, Zhu Yuanzhang was given the title of king, and the eleventh son, Zhu Chun, was crowned king of Shu. Zhu Chun is gentle and quite good at poetry, and is known as "Shu Xiucai". Zhu Chun had several sons, and the eldest son, Zhu Yuexi, was quite loved by Zhu Chun and was made a son of the world, but unfortunately died young and was buried in today's Phoenix Mountain. And Zhu Yuexi's two sons, Zhu Youyu and Zhu Youyu, became zhu Chun's heart.

Zhu Chun focused on the cultivation of his two grandsons, Zhu Youyu and Zhu Youyu, and went all over the country to find famous teachers in Sichuan, and heard that there was a new and famous zhao bi, who was not only knowledgeable but also upright, so he invited Zhao Bi to the palace to teach.

Zhao Bi was a famous historian of the Ming Dynasty, he had long heard of Zhu Chun's reputation for being generous to the people, so he gladly allowed it, but he did not expect that the naughty little daughter Zhao Fu grabbed the dress and wanted to follow, Zhao Bi was helpless, and took his daughter into the Chengdu Palace. The Zhao Fu that Zhu Chun saw was very fond of, and was about the same age as his grandson Zhu Youyu, so he played and studied together, and the two had a friendship of green plum bamboo horses.

Unconsciously, time flew by, and more than ten years later, Zhao Fu and Zhu Youyu were happily married, and the two respected each other and envied others.

At this moment, there was also a storm. After the early death of Zhu Chun's eldest son, Zhu Yuexi, the second son of Zhu Chun, the King of Huayang, believed that according to the ancient precept of "brother and brother", he should be knighted. However, Zhu Chun was quite dissatisfied with the conduct of his second son, King Huayang, and had the intention to pass it on to the eldest grandson Zhu Youyu.

The King of Huayang was indignant in his heart, and when the two nephews became adults, they were like enemies, and when they visited Qinglong Lake, they sent people to wait for an opportunity to sink the lake to cause accidental drowning, and happened to be discovered by Zhao Fu's girlfriend, and finally learned by Zhu Chun.

"Seizing the throne" was a major crime, Zhu Chun wanted to escort the king of Huayang to the imperial court for punishment, and Zhu Youyu and Zhu Youyu interceded for their uncle, and finally reprimanded him for a hundred. After Zhu Chun's death, Zhu Youyu was crowned king of Shu, and the king of Huayang was not dead, and once again stole the treasury silver to marry Zhu Youyu, but did not want to be seized by Zhao Fu again. Zhao Fu sent an edict to Tianzi, and the emperor was furious and demoted the king of Huayang to Hubei, and the people of Chengdu rushed to tell each other, all praising Lady Zhao.

Zhu Youyu, the King of Shu, with the assistance of his younger brother Zhu Youyu, inherited his grandfather's legacy, lightly enslaved, reduced taxes, and worked together to govern Sichuan.

A few years later, Zhu Youyu unfortunately fell ill and died, and because he had no heirs to succeed to the throne, his brother Zhu Youyu accepted the imperial court canonization and became the third generation of Shu kings, and the princess was Concubine Zhao. Although Concubine Zhao was born in Xiangmendi, she was also an ordinary folk family, so she was quite aware of the sufferings of the people, and Zhu Youyu often consulted Concubine Zhao when dealing with some measures related to people's livelihood.

One year, floods broke out in Sichuan, and the King of Shu and Consort Zhao personally came to control the water and dredge the Qinglong Lake. The following year, another plague broke out in Sichuan, and Consort Zhao and the King of Shu personally came to the disaster relief, but unfortunately fell ill. The Shu Dynasty's good medicine exhausted its prescriptions, but it did not work in the end. The King of Shu went to the Shijing Temple three times to pay homage to The Incense to pray for Concubine Zhao's blessing, but he still lacked the skill of returning to heaven.

Concubine Zhao loved Baita Lake before her death and asked to be buried on the lakeside after her death. The King of Shu built another brick pagoda next to the White Pagoda for the princess to commemorate, and the octagonal spire on each floor hung a hibiscus-shaped copper lamp, called the Hibiscus Pagoda.

According to records, the departure of the lover of Qingmei Bamboo Horse made the young King of Shu grief-stricken, "you can not take the throne, but you can not lose Concubine Zhao", Zhu Youyu did not care about government affairs, in the royal city to choose a remote room as a Buddhist hall, chanting the Sutra every day. Soon after, he also died of depression, and before his death, he chose a site to be buried on the right side of The Tomb of Concubine Zhao.

In 2004, Zhaofei Lake, which had disappeared for hundreds of years, was rebuilt, dammed and stored, and officially opened in 2016. Some experts use QinglongGong and Qinglong Village as the basis, called Qinglong Lake.
