The novels "Flock of Wives and Concubines" (adapted into the movie "The Big Red Lantern Hangs High"), "The Dance of Sadness", "Wu Zetian", "My Imperial Life", "The North of the City" and so on are quite influential.

[Haizi] (1964-1989), formerly known as Cha Haisheng, was born in Gaohe Chawan, Huaining County, Anhui Province. He was admitted to the Law Department of Peking University in 1979 and taught at China University of Political Science and Law after graduating in 1983. Haizi lives in a fairy tale country, and his poems are full of attachment to all good things. But the sensitive and fragile mind constitutes the poet's extremely melancholy character, and he later uses death to complete the pursuit of poetry. His published works include the long poem "The Land" and the short poem anthology. "Facing the Sea, Spring Blossoms" was selected as a textbook.
