Japan's Kyushu Chronicle: The Three Kingdoms competed for hegemony and were not easy to unify, but they were defeated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi for half a year

author:Oops, read history

During the Sengoku period in Japan, Kyushu Island was too far away from the Gyeonggi region, so the daimyo on Kyushu Island did not have the idea of "Shangluo", but in order to seize land and population, as well as hatred problems, the daimyo on Kyushu Island also fought with each other non-stop, as if it was a small "Japanese Sengoku Period"; although the scale and frequency were not as good as in the Kanto region, it was still a tasteful fight.

There have been more than a dozen clans in the Kyushu area, such as the Shōbu family, the Arima family, the Otomo family, the Ito family, the Kikuchi family, the Sagara family, the Shimazu family, the Matsuura family, the Nawa family, the Uto family, the Shōjō family, the Ryūzō-ji family, and of course, the external forces Ouchi family and the Mori family, but as time went on, many of the daimyo have disappeared, and in the end only the Ryūzōji family, the Otomo family, and the Shimazu family are left.

The time node was in 1581, because it was this year that the Shimazu family annexed the Sagara family, making Kyushu Island into a state of three-kingdom hegemony; at that time, whether it was the Ryuzō-ji family or the Otomo family or the Shimazu family's home governor, they were all called the masters of the generation, and the governor of the Ryūzō-ji family at that time was Ryuzoji Takanobu, the Ōtomo family's governor was Otomo Yoshinori (the actual controller was Otomo Muneyoshi), and the Shimazu family's governor was Shimazu Yoshihisa.

This Ryūzō-ji family is also a legendary family in the Sengoku period of Japan, their family was originally a vassal of the Shōjō clan, and was forced to flee due to the failure of his grandfather "Shimo Kagami", but the Ryūzōji clan never gave up their ambitions, and eventually Ryuzoji Takanobu seized absolute control of the Ryuzoji family with the help of Otomo's minister Kazuki Kanemori, and then Ryuzoji Takanobu began a frenzied expansion model.

He first attacked the Shōgun clan, then attacked Chiba Yinrai, gained control of the Higashi-hi-mae kingdom, followed by the combined forces of the Arima and Omura families, and in 1570, in the Battle of Eijinzan, he destroyed Ōtomo's 60,000-strong army with 5,000 troops, and beheaded the general of the Ōtomo Army, Otomo Kinshin, after which the rise of the Ryūzōji clan was unstoppable, and finally in 1578 he unified the Hizen Kingdom and officially became daimyō.

After the defeat of the Ōtomo clan to the Shimazu clan, Ryuzoji Takanobu took the opportunity to march against the Ōtomo clan's forces, extending its power to Shimokugo, Higashi-chikuzen, southwest-western Toyomae, and northern Higo. Ten years after the Battle of Imayama, the Ryuzoji clan reached its peak, and five of the nine kingdoms on Kyushu Island possessed his power, becoming the largest force in Kyushu, known as the "Five Prefectures and Two Islands" Taishou, known as the "Bear of Hizen".

Although the Ōtomo clan was later bullied by the Shimazu and Ryūzō-ji families, in the early days, especially during the reign of Ōtomo Muneyoshi, the Ōtomo clan was definitely the first in Kyushu; in the Ōtomo clan genealogy, they claimed to have the bloodline of Qin Shi Huang and Genji, and they were initially appointed by the Genrai dynasty as the guardian of The Toyoko Kingdom; later, because of their support for the Ashikaga clan, they were given the position of guardian of Toyomae and Chikugo, becoming a veritable guardian daimyō of Kitakyushu.

Therefore, in the Warring States period, the Otomo family was very powerful, and the Otomo Zonglin and the Ming Dynasty "One Piece" Wang Zhi had a deep cooperative relationship, so at that time the Otomo family was quite rich, and it seemed reasonable to be strong because of the rich. Before the Battle of Otogawa in 1578, the Otomo clan was the strongest domain in Kyushu, and once dominated the Six Kingdoms of Kyushu; and relied on the status of usuki Castle as a good port to communicate with Portuguese and Chinese merchant ships; but after the Battle of Otogawa began to weaken rapidly, but its strength was still not to be underestimated.

The Shimazu family, the family that finally completed the unification of Kyushu, the ancestors of the Shimazu clan are the descendants of the Qin clan who claimed to be the descendants of the Qin clan, and they do not know whether it is true or false, but the Shimazu family's desire to expand is the strongest, and the family talent is abundant, if this family is in the Kanto region, perhaps the achievements will not be weaker than the Takeda family, the Oda family, and the Tokugawa family.

Shimazu Katsuhisa, the fourteenth governor of the Shimazu family, was divided into an immortal lord, Shimazu Tadayoshi, and with the assistance of Shimazu Tadao, Shimazu Tadao not only gained his own talents, but also was able to distinguish between right and wrong, and while promoting the unification of the Shimazu family, he did not covet the position of governor of the clan, and also retreated after his achievement, but asked his son Shimazu Takahisa to inherit the family as an adopted son.

After Shimazu Katsuhisa voluntarily abdicated, the long-awaited Shimazu Takahisa finally appeared on the historical stage; Shimazu Takahisa was known as the "British Lord of the Shimazu Family", although Shimazu Takahisa did not restore the original old territories of the Shimazu clan as a guardian during his reign (Satsuma Kingdom, Osumi Kingdom, and Hyuga Kingdom), but after his governance, the Shimazu clan had become very powerful, laying the foundation for the later Shimazu Yoshihisa to dominate Kyushu.

It is said that the luck of the Shimazu family is also really good, not only out of Shimazu Yoshihisa, who is a heroic and rough governor, but also he has two brothers with excellent relations- Shimazu Yoshihiro and Shimazu Iehisa, both of whom can be called the Shimazu family's unworldly genius generals, Shimazu Iehisa defeated the Ryūzōji army with more than 10 times the strength of the Ryūzōji army in the Okita Conjugation Battle, and Ryuzoji Takanobu himself was killed in this battle, and soon after the Ryuzōji clan was annexed.

After that, there was the Ōtomo family, whose strength declined sharply after the Battle of Otogawa, and Ōtomo Muneyoshi also abdicated, and his son Ōtomo Yoshitomo became the governor of the house, but at this time the Ōtomo family was far inferior to the Shimazu family, and in the next few years, the Shimazu family was beaten back, and the leadership from the Six Kingdoms to the Bungo Nation was not enough, and finally had to go to Toyotomi Hideyoshi to seek refuge. Toyotomi Hideyoshi had long coveted Kyushu, and Kyushu's overseas trade was the most developed, with not only a large amount of wealth and ships, but also a large number of experienced crew and navy.

This was what Toyotomi Hideyoshi needed most, so after receiving Yoshitomo's request for help, Toyotomi Hideyoshi immediately attacked Kyushu, and although the Shimazu family was already very strong at this time, it was still unable to catch the 200,000 Toyotomi Hideyoshi army that was attacking strongly. If nothing else, the 25,000 vanguard troops of the Maori family led by Kuroda Rumizu alone overwhelmed the Shimazu family, and soon the Toyoma domain was lost.

Then Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his younger brother Toyotomi Hidenaga's 200,000 troops landed in Kyushu, and all the way to the ground, and finally Toyotomi Hideyoshi took only half a year to include the vast Kyushu, but it was a pity that decades of painstaking management, and finally disappeared; because when Toyotomi Hideyoshi was divided, the Shimazu family had only satsuma and Osumi's territory, which was less than the initial Izaku Kingdom; and the previous Otomo family, the Ryūzōji family, the Arima family, the Matsuura family, and the Sagara family, including the Ito family, basically restored their original territory, which was really lonely.
