Zhang Chiming (1917.08.24--- 1997.11.08), formerly known as Zhang Jiaxiang, Zhang Chimin, and Zhang Jiaju. A native of Sidian Township, Xinxian County, Henan. In 1929, he joined the Communist Youth League of China. He served as the chief of the county children's regiment, and a member of the Standing Committee and secretary general of the Children's Bureau of the Central Branch of the Communist Party of China. In 1932, he joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In 1934, it was transferred from the Communist Youth League to the Communist Party of China. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, he successively served as the secretary of the Young Communist League Committee of the 13th Independent Regiment of Eyuwan, the 2nd Regiment of the Red 27th Army, the 246th Regiment of the 82nd Division of the Red 28th Army, the secretary of the Military Department of the Red 25th Army, and the acting section chief and section chief of the Operations Section of the Red 15th Army Headquarters. He participated in the anti-encirclement and suppression struggle in the Eyu-Anhui and Eyu-Shaanxi Soviet regions and the Long March of the Red 25th Army. After arriving in northern Shaanxi, he participated in the battles of Laoshan, Zhiluo, the Eastern Expedition and the Western Expedition. During the Battle of Pingxingguan and the war of liberation during the anti-sweeping and anti-encroachment struggles in Jin-Cha-Ji, northeastern Anhui, and northern Jiangsu, he served as a member of the Songjiang Military and Political Committee, director of the Political Department of the Songjiang Military Region of the Northeast Democratic Coalition Army and deputy political commissar of the Harbin Garrison District, first secretary of the Songjiang First Prefectural Committee of the CPC and political commissar of the Hadong Military Sub-district and political commissar of the Independent 2nd Division, political commissar and director of the Political Department of the 16th Division of the 6th Column of the Northeast Field Army, and political commissar and political commissar of the 127th Division of the 43rd Army of the People's Liberation Army. He successively participated in the battles of Sibao Linjiang, Liaoshen, Pingjin, Dujiang, Xianggan, Guangdong, and Hainan Island.
