"Agricultural Treasure Book": California perch is one of Platinum's flagship products, how was the sales and market situation in 2015?
Liang Jianhui: At present, All of Platinum's California perch seedlings are "You perch No. 1". In 2015, about 100 million fry were sold. According to farmers, the "Ubass 1" grows faster, the fish are more neatly sized, and when selling fish, the fishmongers especially like this fish. In recent years, the application of California perch feed has become more and more mature, and "You perch No. 1" is also very suitable for full feed farming.

Liang Jianhui: As we all know, engaging in seedling breeding is a very systematic work, but many seed farms are directly using commercial fish as parents, there is no quality guarantee, and in recent years, the price of California perch is relatively stable, many individual fry operators are selling commercial fish first, selling to the last batch of fish to be retained as parents, this batch of fish is the slowest growth rate in the whole pond, so that generations of accumulation, the quality of seedlings can be imagined.
Bass 1 mainly uses the method of group breeding, based on the germplasm survey, we selected four different local groups as the basic group for breeding, starting from 2005 and completing and launching to the market in 2010. According to estimates, the growth rate of "You perch No. 1" is 17.8%-25.3% faster than that of ordinary California perch, and the deformity rate of high-backed short tail is reduced from 5.2% to 1.1%, according to the breeding methods in Shunde and The South China Sea, 10,000 splashes can produce more than 3,000 kilograms of fish. At present, the promotion effect of "You perch No. 1" is good, and it is estimated that the coverage area can reach about 50% of the current national aquaculture area, and we are still continuing to breed to ensure that various traits are continuously optimized.
"Agricultural Treasure Book": What are the main problems in the current California perch seedling market? What impact will it have on the industry?
Liang Jianhui: In this regard, California perch is similar to other aquatic product species, the industry entry threshold is low, and the market is chaotic. Due to the lack of necessary supervision and constraints, many irregular seedling farms are also in California perch, but they lack technical strength and the quality of the products is unstable. For the entire market, the proportion of fry production of "You perch No. 1" is not large, but now it can be seen that there are seedlings sold everywhere under the sign of "You perch No. 1".
For farmers, the impact is even more significant, starting with the slow growth rate of fish. The market of Guangdong California perch is very clear, the price of the first batch of fish before the National Day every year is good, and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, it will gradually decline, and the first batch of fish has a great impact on the benefits of farmers. In addition, the neatness of fish and the deformity rate have a greater impact on farmers selling fish, especially at the end of the year when the price is not good. I have encountered many cases in Shunde and the South China Sea, and the fish indicates that the fish of "You perch No. 1" should be purchased, especially when the price of fish is not high, and the phenomenon is even more obvious.

Liang Jianhui: For Platinum, this is one of our most important jobs. In recent years, the amount of parental preservation of our "U perch 1" has also been increasing, which is very meaningful for breeding. At the same time, taking into account the needs of the market, as well as the breeding benefits of farmers, our screening of parents is also very strict, and now we are also looking for a part of the farmer partners to help the company breed parents, the whole process in accordance with the company's requirements, including breeding density, breeding mode, especially pay attention to water quality management and disease prevention and control, especially vigilant against the cross-infection of diseases, to ensure source safety, to provide healthy seedlings to farmers.
On the other hand, we work closely with the Pearl River Institute (Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences), the development unit of "You perch No. 1", to conduct regular testing of "You perch No. 1" to determine better breeding methods and breeding paths. Now, the Pearl River Institute is also breeding California perch species that are more suitable for eating feed, and the basic group of breeding is from "You perch No. 1", under the conditions of the whole process of feed breeding, the fastest growing individuals are selected to be selected for breeding. According to this operation, the third generation has been selected, and compared with the ordinary California perch, there has been a significant difference in the growth rate in the whole feed breeding mode, which proves that this direction is feasible.

Liang Jianhui: First of all, the number of people who cultivate California perch will increase this year, which is already a very obvious trend, and the company's seedling supply pressure is also relatively large.
