The sudden death of Dr. Xiantao's home has not been recognized as a continuation of the work injury: administrative reconsideration has begun, and the Justice Bureau said it was dealing with it

Hubei Xiantao doctor Liu Wenxiong died suddenly at home without being recognized as a work injury. On February 28, the staff of the Xiantao Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau told Nandu Reporter that the matter had entered the administrative reconsideration procedure. Nandu reporters learned from the Xiantao Municipal Bureau of Justice that there were already staff handling the matter.

Nandu reporter previously reported that at about 5:30 on February 13, Liu Wenxiong, a doctor at the Sanfutan Town Health Center in Xiantao City, suddenly fell ill at home and fainted, and died after ineffective rescue, diagnosing the cause of death as "acute myocardial infarction". The "Decision on Not Recognizing Work Injuries" issued by the Xiantao Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau stated that it would not be recognized or treated as a work injury.

The decision issued by the Xiantao Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security states that after the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in January 2020, Liu Wenxiong has been fighting in the frontline of outpatient epidemic prevention, screening suspected patients, and diagnosing and treating 670 fever patients. Before his death, Liu Wenxiong already had chest pain, panic and other physical discomfort symptoms, and he did not ask for additional treatment due to the heavy epidemic prevention task. At 22:00 on February 12, there were still patients who called.

In an interview with Nandu reporter, the staff of the Xiantao Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said that the bureau's determination of no work injury complied with relevant regulations. Liu Wenxiong's family previously said that they were preparing to file an administrative reconsideration.

On February 28, the staff of the Work Injury Insurance Department of the Xiantao Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau told Nandu Reporter that on February 27, the matter had entered the administrative reconsideration procedure, and the bureau would provide the information it had on the matter and cooperate with the administrative reconsideration process. On the afternoon of February 28, the staff of the Xiantao Municipal Bureau of Justice told Nandu reporters that relevant personnel were already handling the matter.
