Zheng Yunlong performs "Desire Under the Elm Tree" in Mingjia

Yesterday, the Beijing International Theater Center's Renyi Theater ushered in the opening work , Eugene O'Neill's classic "Desire Under the Elms", Zheng Yunlong walked into the sacred hall of his heart, telling a hot and sad story on a small stage.

Desire Under the Elms is a classic tragedy by American playwright Eugene O'Neill. In 2007, Beijing Renyi brought it to the stage and premiered it at the Renyi Small Theater located on the south side of the Capital Theatre. Fourteen years later, the new Renyi Small Theater staged this work again, not only a re-rehearsal of a play, but also a continuous theatrical memory between Renyi and the audience, "Fourteen years have passed, our understanding of life and the work will be different, so this creation is completely new." Director Ren Ming and Jungle said so.

Zheng Yunlong, who plays the male protagonist Ibn in the play, is undoubtedly the focus of everyone's attention, and this is also his third drama work. Unlike the previous two coliseum works, the character of Ibn in "Desire Under the Elm Tree" has fragile sensitivities, but at the same time, there are more emotional "bursts", and the distance with the audience is closer, and the requirements for actors are higher. Directors Ren Ming and Jungle both believe that Zheng Yunlong has done his role well, shining on the stage with several other outstanding actors of Beijing Renyi. It is worth mentioning Yu Mingjia, who played his stepmother Aibi in the play. This character, who is full of desire and also yearns for true love, can be said to be like a fire, igniting others will also burn themselves, and Yu Mingjia's performance will grasp the madness and sincerity very well.

The play will run until October 17. Among them, from September 24 to October 3, October 9, 10, 16 and 17, Yu Mingjia, Zheng Yunlong and Li Lin starred, and the rest of the scenes starred Zeng Yongyi, Liu Yi and Li Lin.
