Ayapolis turned white, and Asuka was poked blind, but in fact, in the original storyboard, Asuka's entire face was stripped off.
Anno spared no effort to make these uncomfortable scenes in order to retaliate against the audience who spoke harshly to him, to retaliate against those dead houses who put their spirits on the works.
