The diphtheria crested grebe is listed in the Field Manual of Chinese Birds No. 906
(Scientific name: alophoixus pallidus): Body length 20-25 cm. The top of the head is reddish brown with a long, thin crown, reddish brown, and the side of the head is gray.
The upper body is olive greenish yellow, the flight feathers are dark brown, the outer tea is yellow, and the undertail cover feathers are yellow.
Its natural habitats are low hilly broad-leaved forests, secondary forests, evergreen broad-leaved forests, monsoon forests and rainforests below 1500 m above sea level.
