The ancients believed that the antlers were born forward, in the direction of the yang, to the summer solstice day, is the longest day of the year (northern hemisphere), so the summer solstice day, the yang reached the maximum, but the extreme of things will be reversed, after the summer solstice, the yin began to sprout, the yang began to decline, so the antlers symbolizing the "yang" began to fall off, which is the "antler solution".
After the summer solstice, careful friends will find that the cicadas begin to chirp more. Summer often hear cicadas, but cicadas are not the whole summer, only after the summer solstice, will gradually increase, which shows that after the summer solstice, the grass and trees gradually become wet, suitable for the survival of cicadas, naturally began to move, this is the "first sound", the tick [tiáo], is the cicada, so "the first sound" is also known as "cicada first sound".
When the cicadas become more and more noisy, some shrubs and ferns that prefer to be wet will die or "sleep" before and after the small full, fumigation by the heat. However, in the wetlands of the shade, plants such as half summer will begin to sprout, which is "half summer life".
The ancients took the summer solstice as the dividing point, and integrated the philosophical concepts of anode yin birth, yin and yang transformation, and recurrence into the observation and thinking of phenology, and summarized such a simple and condensed sentence, wisdom and practicality, and deeply understood the three ambiguities of natural dialectics.

Fan Chengda was even more free-spirited, writing in the "Summer Solstice": "Li Nucleus hangs down his waist to wish for food [yì], and the rice dumplings are tied with his arms; the festivals and things compete with the local customs, and the old man is idle with his children." "The summer solstice is not far from the Dragon Boat Festival, so Fan Chengda at the summer solstice, the rice dumplings are tied to the arm, in order to seek health, and people are happy to enjoy the joy of the world, and they are playing with their grandchildren!

The Tang Dynasty poet Ren Deyu wrote in the "Summer Solstice Day": "There is no suspension of transportation, and the four orders are wrong; sending words to HexiJing, today is a yin life." "The Hub is the Big Dipper." He said that the Big Dipper is always rotating, the four seasons are not changing all the time, and suddenly, the summer solstice has arrived, and from then on, the yin qi begins to breed, and the day begins to shorten. Although the poet did not explicitly say it, the sudden arrival of the summer solstice, the passage of time, the feeling of the sun and the moon, was expressed in the words and lines.
Song Dynasty Zhang Qi, also experienced this change in time, he lamented in the poem "Summer Solstice": "The world is unknown, the slight yin is born of nine plains; killing suddenly changes the handle, the cold and summer will become adult", after the summer solstice, the power of yin and yang has changed, the yin lord kills and the yang lord is born, all life is slowly growing up in continuous operation and change, this is the power of the creation of all things, beyond the reach of human beings, the philosophy contained in the poem is the understanding of life and the changes of all things in the universe.
Similarly, Liu Ji in the early Ming Dynasty, the first half of his life suffered setbacks, has not been successful, when he lived in his hometown, the age is nearly half a hundred, and the ambition is not paid, the work is not complete, so the change of time sequence, more sensitive, when the summer solstice, he will recite the sentence "The summer solstice yin life scene is gradually urging, and the hundred years have been half sad", containing infinite feelings about the years and life.

Bai Juyi once wrote in "Si Gui" that "the summer solstice is a yin birth, a little late at night; a person who hugs sorrows, a prophet in a long night; a lonely prophet in a long night; a leisurely hometown pass, and dreams go away without following", Bai Juyi, who was in the school at the time, thought that he had been away from home for a long time on the summer solstice, could not perform filial piety to his parents, could not take care of his wife and children, was sad in his heart, suddenly homesick, and always dreamed of people and things in his hometown in his dreams.
Also having this kind of feeling is the Tang Dynasty Ling Huchu, on the day of the summer solstice, he thought that he was far away from his hometown, his relatives and friends withered, and he had reached the age of burying half of the loess, so he sighed, "Once you come to Jiangcheng Shou, seven see the full moon of the river; the teeth will be seventy, and the township will be more than three thousand... The new festival has returned, so all the donations have been made; when will it be closed, and the appeal will be high in the sky.". 羾 [gòng] means "to", and the poet will fly to the South Heavenly Gate to chat with the Jade Emperor about his heart.
