A remake of the famous soccer anime "Soccer Boy" (Captain Wing), which began airing on TV Tokyo late at night on April 2, also reinvigorated the classic.
"Soccer Boy" tells the story of a talented soccer teenager who grew up with teammates and opponents from elementary school to junior high school and high school, and dreams of leading the Japanese team to win the World Cup. The original was created by Japanese manga artist Yoichi Takahashi in 1981 and was later animated for television in 1983, 1994, and 2001.
