Xue's wife said that the next day after the report, Xue was taken away by the police for investigation. Today (March 18), a reporter from the Beijing News learned from the Baota Branch of the Yan'an Municipal Public Security Bureau that Xue was suspected of conspiring with others to extort money and has now been criminally detained.
In the early morning of March 6, Xue Mou, a man from Zhidan County, Yan'an City, posted on the Internet that the owner of a construction company in Yan'an had opened a clubhouse where a number of officials accepted invitations and gambled heavily, including Wang Xirong, director of the Yan'an Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and Ma Zhiqiang, secretary of the Ansai District Political and Legal Committee.
On March 11, the Yan'an Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Municipal Supervision Commission reported that after investigation, from 2016 to the beginning of 2017, Wang Xirong, Xu Xianbu, Ma Zhiqiang and others repeatedly entered and exited catering service places with the nature of a clubhouse to eat and participate in gambling, and Chen Shun participated in eating and inviting, which seriously violated the spirit of the eight central regulations. The Yan'an Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Yan'an Municipal Supervision Commission decided to give Wang Xirong, director of the Yan'an Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs (without party affiliation), a major punishment for dereliction of duty and dismissal; Xu Xianbu (retired), former member of the party committee of the Yan'an Municipal Water Affairs Bureau and former director of the Water Conservation and Ecological Governance Office, to stay in the party for one year and reduce his retirement benefits; to give Ma Zhiqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Ansai District CPC Committee and secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of Yan'an City, a serious warning within the party, and a punishment for the administrative secretary; and Chen Shun, member of the Standing Committee of the Yichuan County CPC Committee and director of the Propaganda Department, was given a warning within the party and punished by the administrative secretary.
On March 17, Xue's wife told the Beijing News that the day after the report was issued, her husband was taken away by the police for investigation. On March 11, she received a call from the criminal investigation brigade of the Baota Public Security Branch of Yan'an City, "saying that he (Xue Mou) has committed a crime."
Today, the relevant person in charge of the Public Security Branch of Yan'an Baota Told the Beijing News that Xue and others have been criminally detained for suspected extortion. The police investigation found that Xue's suspected extortion case was related to the "gathering of officials' clubs" reported by him. After the reporting incident occurred, some of Xue's accomplices took the initiative to return the stolen goods to the police.
