In the 2015 National Day file, Andy Lau and Wang Qianyuan starred in the crime film "Rescue Mr. Wu" to burst the circle of friends. The thrilling kidnapping case, the high IQ of the step-by-step, and the nervousness of the two leading actors when they played the show successfully made the film explode at the box office, scoring a high score of 7.7.

Because of the excitement of the story, "Rescue Mr. Wu" was bought by the Korean filmmakers, and invited the 100 billion box office film emperor Huang Zhengmin to act, and made a remake of "Hostage" to be released in South Korea. The premiere box office easily topped the Korean daily box office charts, and the follow-up won the Top Korean Box Office For six consecutive days.
But there are some accidents: the quality of the movie "Hostage" is not directly proportional to the high box office, and it can even be said that the story water, poor acting skills, and serious overturning. What's wrong with that? Today we will have a good chat.
The story begins with a party. When attending the party, the male protagonist Huang Zhengmin (Huang Zhengmin) had a stomach disease, so he left early to go home. I never expected to be targeted by criminals in this process, and the outnumbered people were kidnapped and taken hostage.
If you want to leave safely, there is only one way, and that is to pay a huge ransom to the kidnappers in exchange for money.
As we all know, the entertainment industry is the most profitable, so the 5 kidnappers did not blink their eyes, and offered Huang Zhengmin a high amount of 500 million yuan as a life-buying money for "Huang Zhengmin and another kidnapped girl", and Huang Zhengmin agreed without saying a word. (The girl has no money to pay the money, and Huang Zhengmin is kind enough to help her pay)
But the problem is: all 5 kidnappers did not wear face shields when Huang Zhengmin was kidnapped. Directly allowing the kidnapped to see their true colors means that the kidnappers have no intention of letting Huang Zhengmin and the girl go.
Coupled with the kidnappers' previous vicious behavior of dismembering a kidnapped person, Huang Zhengmin was keenly aware that something was wrong. The tense and exciting story of "hostage self-help" begins, and the hand-to-hand combat with the kidnappers successfully attracts the attention of many viewers...
On August 18, "Hostage" premiered in South Korea. Compared with the 106-minute length of the original "Rescue Mr. Wu", the Korean version has reduced the time to 90 minutes, while adding a large number of exciting scenes that are not in the original version of "hostages and kidnappers fighting in the street", the dramatic conflict has become more intense, and it is a Korean crime commercial film with a very obvious style.
The hostage Huang Zhengmin and the 5 kidnappers fight each other in this section, which can be described as a high-energy highlight of the whole process.
In the first step, the tiger left the mountain to pretend to cooperate, and successfully tricked the kidnapper head and one of the younger brothers into the convenience store to find the TOP card left in the convenience store and used to transfer 500 million ransom. (This card is required for large-value transfers in South Korea to ensure security)
In the second step, the film emperor-level acting upper body pretended that he had a heart attack, convulsed and urinated incontinence, and successfully let another kidnapper go out to buy medicine to rescue, and then defeated another guard's kidnapper with his agility.
In this way, there is only one female kidnapper left in the house, and the chances of escaping are very good.
In this plot, Huang Zhengmin's acting skills can be described as textbook level. From the superb performance of pretending to have a heart attack to the resolute eyes of "fighting to the death" when fighting with the female kidnappers, the character of the hostage who is desperate to survive is firmly established, and the audience is successfully brought into the plot.
Unfortunately, the protagonist aura of the hostage Huang Zhengmin in the follow-up plot is really too large, and many times in the character setting, "IQ is not proportional to strong combat effectiveness", which is difficult to convince the audience.
If there is an empty back mountain when fleeing with the girl, it is better to choose a locked gate to waste time. For example, when opening the iron door, it is uneasy to open quietly, and the chains are required to bang on the door loudly, for fear that the kidnappers will not know that they are going to flee. One after another, such dog-blooded low-intelligence plots are almost like making the audience laugh.
In the original "Rescue Mr. Wu", the biggest attraction is the high IQ maneuvering between the hostages, robbers, and police. Each side has a well-planned plan, and the interlocking psychological warfare seems very enjoyable.
Looking at the remake of "Hostage"? The police did nothing to find out where the kidnappers were hiding the hostages. The robbers were even more demoralized, infighting at the slightest disagreement, and inexplicably turning themselves in.
The narrative line of the cat-and-mouse game between the police and the robbers should be tense and exciting, but "Hostage" completely loses such a sense of atmosphere, which greatly reduces the quality of the film.
Not to mention the plot at the end of the film, "the hostage Huang Zhengmin single-handedly over the robbers". There is nothing wrong with being agile, and the atmosphere of the gunfight is also thrilling, especially the picture of the hand-bladed robber, who rushes out of the screen with full force.
But the question is: Does a person who has been tied up for days, injured his leg, and been hit hard by the kidnappers really have such a strong fighting power? In order to highlight the protagonist's aura and ignore the logic, the coolness is correct, but the plot development of "hostages beating kidnappers, kidnapping and child-making dramas" is too idealistic to convince the audience.
In addition to the above, "Hostage" also has a fatal flaw, that is, the kidnapped star in the film is set as "Huang Zhengmin", that is, the film emperor Huang Zhengmin needs to play himself in the film and show the thrilling escape process after the kidnapping.
Such a setting makes the film gimmicky, and even when it is announced, there is a gimmick of "kidnapping the film emperor Huang Zhengmin", which sounds quite interesting.
It just becomes this interesting setting, and the defeat is also this interesting setting: the film intends to increase the sense of reality in the form of "Huang Zhengmin playing Huang Zhengmin", creating the illusion that a kidnapping case really occurred in the Korean entertainment industry, but it double-ignores the authenticity of the camera language and the authenticity of the character.
The maturity of the picture scheduling is a fictional movie, and the fierce state presented by Huang Zhengmin in it is not in line with the state of real life, which directly leads to the film style being incompatible with this jumping setting.
The original intention was to increase the dramatic conflict of the film, and incidentally entertain Huang Zhengmin's identity as a film emperor. However, he did not expect to dilute the thrilling sense of "the shadow emperor was kidnapped" in the story setting, and lost his wife and folded the soldiers.
Instead of wasting time watching this remake of word-of-mouth overturning, it is better to brush the truly classic original again~
