昨晚认真的寄出了分量最重的一封cover letter，上午就收到婉拒了，明年4月毕业，论文还好，只少到了ＭＩＴ组里的博士水平。我第一轮就只选了10所学校，不准备海投，全部都一一针对着准备材料。如果运气不好全跪了，敢问万能的虫友们是不是应该申请ＣＳＣ了，除了要回来承担义务外？还有何风险呢？谢谢。
以下权当分享下cover letter及对方回复，自认为写得挺好的，老板给仔细改过了。也不知道对方会的是客气还是真对你感兴趣但没位置，有海投经验的请给分析分析：
Cover letter
My name is －－. I am a Ph.D. candidate in－－ China. I will most probably receive my Ph.D. degree next spring in 2016. It is with great enthusiasm that I apply for the postdoc position in your power electronics research group. So far I have been mainly working on megahertz (MHz) wireless power transfer for over five years, and published 4 papers in IEEE transactions (TPEL, TMTT, and TII) and 10 papers in international conferences (IECON, WPTC, and WoW).
In my Ph.D. study, I am particularly interested in the circuit design, system optimization and control of MHz wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. My multi-discipline background in power electronics, radio frequency and microwave, optimization, and control, well helped my research. It is exciting to find that we are sharing many similar interests, such as the size of the system, parasitic parameters of components, novel system architectures, efficient circuits, and reliable control schemes. I think MHz WPT is a good application that may help to further move forward the research on the high-frequency power electronics. Besides MHz WPT, I would like to challenge broader problems in the area.
My institute was jointly established by －－, where a typical US model is applied both in education and research. The international environment stimulated and helped me to become independent and self-motivated. I am the leader of the WPT group in my lab, which started from me to a group with 4 Ph.D. and 2 master students. I coordinated and supported our lab to win “2014 top ten research group in－－”. Meanwhile, I also helped my advisor in paper review, writing of proposals for various funding agencies, management of WPT group and projects, and organization of special sections in international conferences. All these experiences and trainings broadened my view to a higher international level and made me well prepared for the academic career.
In summary, I believe my relevant expertise, my strong research and publication record, and my proved capability in conducting innovative research make me ideally placed to contribute to your power electronics research group.
