On the afternoon of July 13, the South China Sea Fleet held a ceremony for the retirement of officers with the rank of colonel in 2020. Leaders of fleet organs at and above the home military level, cadres of some organs, as well as retired officers and family representatives attended.
At the ceremony, the leaders of the fleet read out the retirement approval, expressed high respect and good wishes to all retired officers, and issued the "Certificate of Honor for Retirement" to the representatives of 9 retired officers.
"Welcome the flag." With the sonorous and powerful voice, the flag bearer took a firm step, escorting the brightly colored military flag slowly past, and the retired officers had a strict military appearance, solemn saluted, and bid farewell to the military flag. Among them are not only the leaders of the organs, but also the front-line backbone, as well as technical experts. Over the years, they have adhered to the loyalty of the soldiers, kept firmly in mind the mission of the soldiers, maintained the true colors of the soldiers, cherished the honor of the soldiers, and in the hot land of the South China Sea, they have waited for the sun and fought against the waves, dedicated the most beautiful youth to the cause of national defense and the army, and left many indelible military marks.
"I will not forget my original intention, always maintain my true colors, and be a heroic veteran who will never fade." Wang Xiaohua, a representative of retired military officers, made a speech full of affection, expressing his gratitude to the organization and his attachment to the military.
Holding the retirement ceremony is not only a pragmatic measure to implement President Xi Jinping's important instructions on strengthening the construction of the professional honor of military personnel, but also a practical action to implement the relevant provisions of the "Queue Ordinance" and other relevant regulations, and it is also a praise and affirmation of retired officers' dedication to the cause of strengthening the military.
