Cantonese opera "Liang Qichao" is produced by Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, and the Guangzhou Hongdou Cantonese Opera Troupe under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Cantonese Theatre has created a new arrangement. The script was created by Yin Hongbo, a national first-class screenwriter, transplanted by the famous Cantonese opera screenwriter Chen Jinrong, and directed by Li Yongzhi, a national first-class director and professor at the China Academy of Performing Arts. In terms of performance style, the outstanding feature of the play is the inheritance and development of the "multi-time and space-sharing" style of traditional opera, and the "virtuality and symbolism" of opera are brought to the extreme.

In terms of cast, the play is starred by the famous Cantonese opera performance artist and winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award "Second Degree Plum" O Kaiming, who plays Liang Qichao in the play. Cui Yumei, a famous Cantonese opera performance artist and winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award, played Li Huixian, the wife of Liang Qichao. Screenwriter Yin Hongbo said: "Through the shaping of Liang Qichao's image, the play preaches such a truth: loyalty to the motherland and service to the nation are the proper virtues of every person with lofty ideals, and people with such qualities are the pride and glory of our nation." ”

Lead actor Ou Kaiming said that after the Cantonese opera "Liang Qichao" was selected for the National Arts Fund funded project, the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera house concentrated its artistic strength on polishing the work, and he also said that the play will be performed in more than ten performances in many places in Guangdong Province before June 2022.
