"When you become a deputy, you must fulfill your responsibilities, reflect the voices of the grassroots, and reflect the ideas of the voters." Jiang Mei, deputy to the Changsha County People's Congress and deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of Hunan Labor and Personnel Vocational College, has been engaged in educational work for many years, and in order not to live up to the glory and responsibility of the people's congress deputies, how to perform her duties well and fulfill her responsibilities has become the focus of her work and life.

2016 was the first year that Jiang Mei was elected as a deputy to the Changsha County People's Congress. In order to better perform her duties, she visited surrounding schools, enterprises, and residents, collected a lot of voter opinions, and sorted out these opinions and suggestions to carry out field research.

That year was a very fast year for Jiang Mei to grow. In that year, on the basis of full research, she put forward the "Suggestions on Improving the Public Transportation Network in the Changlong Street Area", which was highly valued by the relevant departments. The following year, the Xingsha X117 bus was opened, seamlessly connecting Changlong Street with the South Railway Station, providing convenience for students and industrial workers in colleges and universities in the district.

In the following two years, the opening of the X117 bus has made it easier for students, workers and the masses to share travel, and has also strengthened Jiang Mei's determination and confidence in performing her duties for the people.

Since then, under the continuous attention of Jiang Mei, she found that due to the increase in college students and industrial workers in the park, the X117 bus has gradually appeared to have fewer shifts and long waiting times. To this end, Jiang Mei once again put forward the "Proposal on Increasing the Number of Xingsha X117 Bus Trips", which mentioned that the number of trips should be increased on holidays and weekends to solve the problem of travel difficulties.

"The status of a people's congress deputy has broadened my horizons and allowed me to have a greater sense of responsibility and mission to continue to learn and listen." Jiang Mei said that she usually uses her identity as an educator to often communicate with teachers and parents of students to listen to their voices. Its areas of concern have gradually expanded from education to public transportation, industrial development, sewage treatment, etc., and actively speak out for the promotion of high-quality economic and social development in the county. Since then, she has also put forward suggestions such as "building a platform for cooperation between vocational education schools and enterprises and governments", "starting the construction of Changlong Street Junior High School", and "strengthening the sewage treatment in Changlong Area" to speak for the grassroots.

After several years of performing her duties, Jiang Mei felt that the responsibility on her shoulders was heavier. She said that in the future, we will continue to conduct research, collect opinions and analyze problems in more effective ways to convey more demands to the people.
