Next to Liuhang Station of Shanghai Metro Line 7, there is a 300-year-old ancient opera building "Yuyin Pavilion", on the evening of November 12 to 14, Shanghai Modern People Drama Club cooperated with Yuyinge, and the century-old opera building was transformed into a deserted village apartment, telling a mysterious but beautiful and sad story.
Standing quietly in a garden-like environment, the ancient opera building was operated in 2019 under the name of "Yuyin Pavilion" and led by the team led by Wang Peiyu, a famous actor in Peking Opera, and was built into a "small and beautiful" traditional cultural landmark. The environmental drama "Deserted Village Apartment" is based on the original work of the same name by the best-selling suspense novelist Cai Jun, written by Chen Xinyu and directed by Shen Xufei, and has been selected for the Stage Art Funding Project of the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation.
Since the 12th, "Deserted Village Apartment" has interlaced the ancient opera building stage and the stage into parallel time and space, and the Peking Opera actors on the stage have interpreted the anecdotes of the deserted village apartment in the 1920s, and the scene fused around the audience seat is the abandoned deserted village apartment, which has attracted young reporters to explore. From the moment he stepped into the deserted village, the old apartment was full of strange things, leading to a century-old secret on an unforgettable night.
The staggered time and space, the performances of Peking Opera and drama actors, and the different rhythmic senses of the stage allowed the audience to quickly immerse themselves in the time and space transformation between the 1920s and today's reality, and the stories of two generations in the deserted village apartment spanning a hundred years were connected into a line. Young Peking Opera actors Shi Xiaojun and Sun Yajun integrated the stories that occurred in the 1920s into the atmosphere of the ancient opera building through the stylized performance of Peking Opera. Drama actors Xie Chenchen, Fang Yihan and Dong Shihao are almost zero distance from the audience, and they will pull the people present back to the 2020s. In the performance area before and after the performance scene, up and down the stage, Peking Opera and drama performances are converted, so that the stories of the two 20s in different centuries are organically combined. From the moment the audience walked into the ancient opera building, they walked into the parallel space of the deserted village apartment.
"The rise of the new space for performing arts conforms to the changes in the performance viewing of the post-90s-00 generation, allowing the performance to break through the shackles of the four walls of the theater." The organizers of the program said that Shanghai Modern Ren Drama Club and Yuyinge cooperated to explore how different types of dramas and different performance forms fit the structure of the fictional plot, and the environmental drama "Deserted Village Apartment" is just the beginning, and the two sides will continue to cooperate in the future to create new plays.
