"Post-00" female bodyguards only need a pen to defend themselves

Since the official implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Security Services, it has been more than a decade since the legalization of "private bodyguards". Under the temptation of high salaries, many people sign up for relevant training, but even the completion rate of veterans and professional athletes after training is still less than 30%.

The bodyguard industry is dominated by men, with less than 10% of female workers. Recently, the "post-00s" beautiful bodyguard Zhang Meili's mission video became popular on the Internet, and the reporter of Beijing Youth Daily talked to the parties to unveil the growth path of Chinese female bodyguards.

Chuan Meizi wants to be a "superhero"

Chuan meizi Zhang Meimei is 1 meter 65 tall, weighs about 60 kilograms, and does not look very conspicuous, but the first feeling of that neat ponytail and sharp eyes is "not good". Netizens called her "the most sassy female bodyguard" and "a girlfriend who does not dare to mess with".

Zhang Meili, 21 years old, was born in Zigong City, Sichuan Province, and her parents have been working outside the home for many years. The once-popular movie "Shaolin Temple" and her lively and active personality made her have the idea of learning martial arts since she was a child, and in the fourth grade of primary school, she developed the ideal of "strengthening herself and saving others from danger".

She spends more time practicing martial arts every day, even doing farm work while strengthening her body. Soon, Zhang Meili, who had excellent physical fitness, was favored by the coach of the school team, and her strength of not being afraid of suffering and not dying made her a famous local sports student, and she is still the county long jump record holder.

Not only in sports, Zhang Meimei's academic performance is also excellent, and she was admitted to the county's key high school with more than 630 points in the middle school examination. In 2017, she was successfully admitted to the Sanda major of Chengdu Institute of Physical Education. In the 4 years of sanda study, Zhang Meili won the third place in the 60 kg women's sanda competition for many times.

In 2020, after graduating from college, she chose the profession of bodyguard as the development direction. During a lecture on Maga (a special military martial arts technique developed and created by Israel) and special reconnaissance technology, Zhang Meili met Chen Yongqing, the founder of Beijing Tianjiao Academy.

Chen Yongqing suggested that Zhang Meili, if you really want to engage in this business, you can come to Beijing to try. Early the next morning, she made up her mind to come to Beijing to study and work, and to see the higher level of bodyguard work.

When opposed by her parents, Zhang Meili tearfully said that she did not want to regret the cowardice of her youth when she was old. Her words touched the hearts of her parents.

The only female cadet in the Devil's Training Class

Before the interview, the application fee of tens of thousands of yuan made Zhang Meili prohibitive. Chen Yongqing knew that her family was not well off, and specially exempted her from tuition. Zhang Meili successfully became a member of the bodyguard training class, and she was the only girl in the class of more than 30 people at that time. Among the trainees in the same period, there are fitness instructors, fresh graduates, veterans, and even business ceminos, ranging in age from 18 to 40.

The Devil Training Course is very intense, starting physical training at 5 o'clock every day, and then learning various courses such as VIP protection courses, special driving, FBI mind reading, special reconnaissance techniques, anti-terrorism training courses, Maga techniques, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, grappling and other martial arts and business etiquette and communication.

Perhaps because of the absolute proportion of male practitioners, the training content is almost designed based on the strength of men. But coaches never treat her specifically because she's a woman. The calluses in the palms of his hands were worn off several times, the skin of his shoulders was worn out several layers, and Zhang Meili, who did not accept defeat, also gritted her teeth and persevered, without resting for a day.

"Not only physically, but the real 'devil' aspect is actually psychological stress." Chen Yongqing told the Beiqing Daily reporter that the most important quality of bodyguards is to learn to control emotions and have absolute ability to resist pressure. So every training, more or less added to the anti-stress training.

After two months, Zhang Meili felt that her physical fitness had improved even more, and her endurance, speed, strength and coordination had improved significantly. After that, she stayed in Beijing Tianjiao to work.

Female bodyguards have their own unique advantages

"Bodyguards are for the purpose of defense, and professional bodyguards should use skills and wisdom to arm themselves and protect others, avoid all possible dangers, and put possible risks in front of them." Zhang Meili said that as a bodyguard practitioner, she also inevitably had to suffer from some stereotypical misunderstandings.

"There are some misunderstandings in people's understanding of bodyguards, believing that bodyguards are good at fist and foot kung fu, and when danger comes, they fight hard to protect the lives of important people." She said that in the true sense of the bodyguard, force is only the foundation, if the other party shoots, even if the employer encounters danger when the bodyguard is resting, it means that the bodyguard's work is a failure.

She said that in addition to showing "murderous spirit" when on alert and making potential threats feel afraid, bodyguards also need intelligence and keen observation, can recognize people and can detect potential dangers and stop and deal with them in time to eliminate dangerous hidden dangers. When on a mission, colleagues often wear communication equipment and various types of testing instruments, and self-defense is often enough with only a pen.

"What really matters about bodyguards is the brain and intuition." Chen Yongqing commented on Zhang Meili, "As a woman, she has a particularly strong sixth sense. ”

Zhang Meili told the Beiqing Daily reporter that with the popularization of the bodyguard industry, there are more employers who hire personal bodyguards, especially more and more women have become employers. Under normal circumstances, such employers are low-key, do not want to go to the grandiose, more need is a personal bodyguard, this time male bodyguard has many inconveniences, female bodyguards have their own unique advantages.

Although there is a sense of accomplishment, the most difficult thing in several different bodyguard jobs is also the personal bodyguard, with few teammates, large workload, nervous tension, and the time of the bodyguard is the employer's, so the personal physiological needs must be compressed and reasonably arranged. "Professional instincts have always reminded us that we should not underestimate ourselves, we should not underestimate our opponents, and we should not underestimate our work. Not a single speck of suspicious detail or a predictable danger can be missed. Zhang Meili said.

Being an unsung hero is a must for professional bodyguards

Chen Yongqing said that since 2008, when more than 70 retired special forces were recruited to form a security company, he has trained tens of thousands of professional bodyguards, and the training camps opened every year will accept trainees from all over the country, veterans and athletes account for more than half of them, and most of the rest are fresh graduates and rebellious children sent by their parents.

For the completion rate, Chen Yongqing told the Beiqing Daily reporter that the peers who came to the training camp for on-the-job training and further study accounted for 50% of the trainees, and the rest were new people who might be included in the industry, and the final certificate was often less than 30%. Among them, less than 10% of female employees are employed.

"When I first started working, many people had the impression that bodyguards represented criminal and evil forces and professional thugs." Chen Yongqing said that because of these negative perceptions, he has been ensuring industry self-discipline for many years, starting with careful screening of customers. "If you open your mouth, you have to be able to fight, and I don't take this kind of customer."

Since its development, Chen Yongqing's team has mainly focused on the security work of private visits or business exchanges between Fortune 500 companies and foreign companies.

The bodyguard industry comes with a label that is highly professional. For each mission, the bodyguard company signs a confidentiality agreement. Unlike other industries, they can't rely on customer visibility for publicity, which has become a common dilemma in the industry. Under such conditions, increasing the excellent reputation, improving professional quality, and optimizing professional skills have become the only criteria for evaluating bodyguards. Being willing to be an unsung hero and correcting your mentality is also a necessary professional quality as a professional bodyguard.
