A pastel public welfare teaching class will be held

According to reports, pastel painting has a long history in Europe, and in the 17th century it has become an independent painting genre. Li Chaoshi (1893-1971), a pioneer of Chinese pastel painting, brought the art of pastel painting back to China after studying in France in 1911 and taught Lian Yiqing (1917-2002) the skills of pastel painting, and Lian Yiqing became his favorite student.

"Decades ago, my father made many debugging and hard work for our country to be able to produce self-produced color chalk and color powder paper, and looking back today makes me sigh! I am very grateful to the friends of Zhuhai Xiangzhou for their respect for their father and their love for pastel paintings. I hope that all the painters who love art will exchange and learn from each other in this pastel exhibition, and get really beneficial harvest and help. Seeing the opening of the Pastel Painting Art Museum, Lian Yiqing's son Lian Fang had a lot of feelings.

Looking back on the past, the development of pastel art has experienced many ups and downs, the lack of pastel supplies, the difficulty of promotion... Li Xuexian, son of Li Chaoshi, said, "It is precisely because of the unremitting efforts and dissemination of artists and pink painters that pastel painting can still be passed down from generation to generation until now, so that the art of pastel painting can bloom brilliantly in China." ”

"The opening of the Yiqing Pastel Painting Art Museum and the successful holding of the Pastel Painting Invitation Exhibition have provided a new display and development platform for opening up the vast space of pastel painting and injecting new impetus into art." In the future, the development, inheritance and promotion of the pastel painting art system will be more local characteristics of Zhuhai and Xiangzhou! Zhang Xiaohui said, "After the opening of the art museum, citizens and friends can get closer to the art of pastel painting, and we will also open a public welfare teaching class on pastel painting to further promote the art of pastel painting." ”
