According to preliminary estimates at the scene, about 100 people were trapped in the sky garden on the 5th floor of the building, and firefighters needed to rescue the ground with a ladder.
It is reported that there are many restaurants in the building where the fire occurred, and after the fire, smoke poured into the restaurant, and not long after, the lights in the restaurant suddenly went out, and customers fled.
The area around the scene of the fire was filled with smoke, and citizens who passed by covered their noses.
As of 14:38, 8 people were unwell, of whom 4 were taken to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment, 3 to Mrs. Youde Natasuk Hospital in the Eastern District for treatment, and 1 to Ludunzhi Hospital for treatment. One of the 60-year-old women, who inhaled thick smoke, fell into a semi-coma and was taken to Ludunzhi Hospital for rescue. At present, the police and firefighters are still carrying out rescue.
